Sigmund (3724) - Hafrsfjord, - NOV 20, 2008
500 ml bottle, brew #830, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Deep golden to brown colour, slightly hazy, with a big head. The aroma has malts, some caramel, fruit and hops, also wood, juniper and resin, a hint of spices, maybe a faint hint of smoke too. The flavour is woody and resiny with decent hops, again with a hint of smoke. Has a flair of "traditional homebrew" this one. I like it!

Bottle enjoyed at home
Copper hazy, super duper massive head. Takes a while to pour a descent glass of beer here. Fruity floral aroma with some grassy side tones. Also some yeast esters. Nice malty body with decent amounts of sweetness for an ESB. Nice grassy hoppy bitter finish. Good beer from Inderøy

Palme (1449) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 24, 2011
0.5l bottle from Fenaknoken, Oslo. This is a cloudy pale-orange body with a massive everlasting fluffy off-white head. Aroma is light maitish with notes of some grass and some caramel. Quite lively and stingy carbonation, light-bodied and has a mild oily to watery texture. Tastes malty, almost like chocolate-malts. Also quite grassy and it ends bitter and hopy with some yeast flavors in the aftertaste. A bit to thin mouthfeeling that I can really enjoy it, but not bad in any way.

Bottle from Vaaland Spesialbutikken, Bryne. Honey-hued slightly hazy orange with a big, creamy white head. Aroma is floral hops, hints of honey and pale malts, with tiny hints of DMS. Taste is grassy hops, bitter dandelion, chamomile-like tones and mildly spicy, herbal hints. Decent malt backbone. I’m really surprised they didn’t use any herbs in this - or maybe they just didn’t list it? A classic Norwegian "farm brew" with an original touch - quite good, but not great.

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of coriander and hops as well as a lighter note of other spices I can’t name. The flavor is sweet with notes fo malt and spices, leading to a dry, spicy, and hoppy finish. Thanks joergen for sharing.

berlinoise2go (383) - NORWAY - MAR 5, 2010
Bottle, 50cl, from Fenaknoken, Oslo. Batch 922 (BB Aug 2010). Huge off-white head, cracking up into large bubbles, leaving a persistent, uneven lacing. Golden amber, hazy colour. Nose of honey, pine, grass, paper. Lively carbonation, thin mouthfeel. Taste has some fruitiness and sourness but is soon dominated by a dry, papery bitterness, which leaves an unbalanced impression.
