Appearance: Brown color with an off white layer that leaves some lacing.
Aroma: Slightly sweet caramel malty and some fruity notes.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and a mild bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Dominating caramel malty as usual for this style. Some fruity notes.
Overall impression: Just another Norwegian grocery store Christmas dunkel.

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff jan-13: kobbergylden. "Münchener Dunkel" iflg etiketten. Lite aroma. Tørr og kjedelig, får meg ikke til å tro på nissen.

Sampler from bottle at Nærbø Ølfestival 2011 at the Cardinal stand. Clear amber body with a rim in off-white. Yeasty, roasted, fruity, prune nose. Grows in the mouth. Medium body. Sweet and fruity. Light syrupy texture.

500 ml bottle. Almost clear dark, amber body with a fine, lasting beige head. Relativity moderate but pleasant aroma of malt, some caramel and light yeast. Flavor is nice and refreshing malt with some caramel and hint of fruity yeast, not much bitter. A nice, well crafted session beer, smooth, flavorful and balanced without being particular outstanding in any direction. Definitely one of the better Christmas beers available outside the state monopoly.

Bottle. Brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is dry, caramel, roasted malt. Flavour is dry, fruit, roasted malt, caramel, hop. Medium body. OK beer.

05.03.2010, 0,5l Bottle. Thanks to Svein L. Dark brown colour with tan flat head. Aroma is malty with some dark malt and a dry bitterness. A little thin body. Very nice bitteraroma, a little roasted and dry finish.

Bottle@BlindTastingSession. Aroma of raisin, red berries, nutmeg and also light lactic. Brown colour, light hazy, floaties, beige head, good lace. Pretty sweet, light sourish, light bitter, prune, raisin, nutmeg. Light bodied.

[ Trade by Yngvar ]. Clear medium amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, spicy, sweet malt, perfume, light to moderate yeasty, wood and strawberry notes. Flavor is moderate to light light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20091003]

Bottle @ Cardinal. Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of spices and malt. Taste is sourlike, dry, dark malts with a strange sweetish touch. Ends rather strange, weak bitter.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is caramelish and slight spiced. Sweet and roasted malty flavoured, slight citric. Lingering spiced finish.
