Homebrewer’s Tap Takeover collaboration with Jamie Shillow. Caramel, toffee and biscuit notes dominate the palate, balanced by delicate hop undertones and a clean dry finish.

[5826-20130917] Tap. Toasted oatmeal malt aroma. Hazy, dark brown red body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted grains and oatmealy malt flavour. Medium-full body. Good. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

Draught at ’Indie Alehouse Homebrewers Tap Takeover’. Pours a deep amber-brown with a small semi-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt first, a bit toffee-ish, followed by some dark fruit and a hint of hops. Slightly watery flavour of caramel malt, a touch buttery, and with a moderate bitter finish. Average bodied. Just good, didn’t do much for me.

Dark brown body and lacy, roast/carmel/nutty. An Ok brown, hits the target, as far as browns go. More hops would be interesting. Nothing offensive, but also not so interesting.

2013-09-17. Lightly hazy mahogany brown body with a small tan head. The aroma is interesting, sweet malt, sort of caramel sweetness, with odd overtones I can’t place, hops. 6+ Flavour is similar, sweet up front with a slightly odd quality to it, sort of earthy smokey undertones. Fairly bitter in the finish. Smooth average bodied palate, very soft carbonation. I like the caramel quality of it but can’t quite get into it otherwise. On tap at Indie Alehouse Homebrewers Tap Takeover event, Toronto Beer Week
