Draught pint at The Brewery market. Y’know how sometimes you get a beer that’s described as being spiced like gingerbread spiced, and you try it, and you’re like "uh, I *guess* it tastes a bit like gingerbread, but mostly it just tastes like beer with smidge of spice in it"? Well, this ain’t that beer. This beer smelled and tasted like a delicious piece of dark gingerbread, with big & bold ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg flavours layered over an excellent strong & roasty porter with notes of chocolate and dark sugar. Excellent!

[4202-20111218] Tap. Ginger bread spices roast malt aroma. Black brown body with a long-lasting creamy tan head. More gingerbread and cookie spices in the flavour, lots of toasted malt. Full body. Tasty, a nice treat. (7/4/8/4/14) 3.7

2011-12-18. Very dark brown body with a nice tan head. 3+ Flavour ha quite a bit of spice up front, nutmeg and others, nice simple malt in the middle, long lingering spice in the finish. Light herbal and nutmeg character. 7+ Modest spice throughout in the aroma. Cookie or gingerbread like notes in the aftertaste. Smooth medium bodied palate. Spice is prominent without being overbearing but might become a bit much by the second pint, if you were so inclined. Pretty nice stuff. On tap at Brewer’s Market, Toronto

Enjoyed on tap at the Brewery Market. Loaded up with the smell of gingerbread, and certainly that is the primary taste. Creamy, spicy, a big mouthfeel. Also some star anise. Drinkable, but not as drinkable as their other offerings. Some thick lace on dark body.
