On tap at the brewery. Pours amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of floral and piney and resinous hops, some light notes of citrus, a good amount of pale and caramel malts, very light hints of alcohol, and some dough. Flavor the same with a very strong bitterness. Average texture. A pretty good imperial IPA but a little too bitter/ big for my liking.

Hazy amber pour with an almost white head that’s a little short but leaves nice lacing. Big nose full of candied citrus fruit, pineapple and spruce with enough maltiness behind it to balance out. Pretty sweet candied fruit on the front that leads into a healthy bitterness and long finish. Great stuff.

Draft - Caramel sweetness and orange, grapefruit hops. Hazy gold with a rich white head. Sweet candy floss hops and a rich caramel background. Light booze and a long finish.

Tapped at the Indie Ale House brewpub. Overall a very good IIPA. Sweet malts in the aroma, bitter aromatic hops and malts in the taste. Alcohol although 10% abv present but warming and not aggressive.

Nicely packaged 650 ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy burnt yellow with a bit of white head. Gives off a heavy aroma of fruit and bread malt. Reminded me of fruit cake. Taste is substantial. Tropical fruit, peaches and plums with caramel malt. Seriously long and bitter finish. Some booze was detected but it has enough flavour to mask it well. Balanced but heavy and delicious all the way.

On tap at BarVolo in Toronto. Pours and orange brown color with off white head. Nose is strong pine and citrus. Flavor is great sweet maltiness with pine and citrus notes and a mildly warming bitter finish. Reminded me a lot of Alpine Expo Hoppiness. Really good.

(On tap at the brewpub, Mar 8 2014) Pours a cloudy dark gold, no head because it was frothing out of the tap and thus settled in a pitcher before making it to the glass. Aroma is pine heavy and resinous, some grapefruit pith and lightly bready and sweet malt in behind. Flavour hits with hops at first, punchy and resinous with some pine and citrus rind. Big sweet malt body, a little bready and some caramel. Hops provide a decent bitter punch and help dry it out on the finish as does noticeable alcohol but some malt sweetness persists. Mouthfeel fairly full, carb almost non-existent after frothing away. A good DIPA, one of the most pine-forward hoppy beers I’ve had in a while and with a pretty big malt presence too. I tend to prefer fruity hop bombs but this is well done.

On tap at Bar Volo, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, resinous notes, and caramel malt. Flavour is super piney and resinous in the hop department, with a nice balance of dry caramel biscuity malt.

Un nez pas mal arrogant et peu subtil de sapin, céréales grillées, marmelade et diacétyl. Le corps est assez juteux et résineux mais la finale est un peu pénible, pas mauvais sans plus.

On tap at Indie Alehouse. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden/copper with a thin white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma has big notes of grapefruit, citrus, pine resin, and a slight grass/hay. Really fricking good. Taste is a strong bitter with lots of pine, resin, and slight citrus, with alcohol on the finish. Drawn out resiny, bitter aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly resinous texture but not bogged down. Overall pretty good. Huge aroma paired with a strong bitterness. Aroma is slightly better than the taste. Would get again for sure.
