3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at ’Indie Alehouse Homebrewers Tap Takeover’. Pours a murky amber-brown with a spare long-lasting off-white head. Mild aroma of smoke along with a hint of marshmallows, some banana, bubblegum and more fruit. Flavour: Nice smokiness followed by some fruit and then caramel malt. Moderate bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good, and interesting.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Indie Ale House Home brewer tap takeover, brewed at Indie. Smoked hefe, with a good and substantive smoke character, nicely done. Hefe takes a secondary role, with banana in the finish. Darker colour with lace. Smooth mouthfeel.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2013-09-17. Lightly hazy mahogany tinged body, small beige head fades. Aroma is interesting, sort of phenolic smoke meets banana esters. Flavour is similar mix of mild smoke and fruity yeasty banana esters, brief caramel malt character in the middle supplies the dunkel aspects, finishes fairly bitter. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Pretty nice beer, the mix of flavours is quite interesting, but ultimately I find even the mild smoke character is a bit too much for my smoke-phobic palate.
