A key beer in the craft beer revolution. IPAs were originally made in the 1800’s in England with extra hops and alcohol to survive the long sea voyage from England to India for the troops there and became so popular for the refreshing bitter taste that the rest of the world soon caught on. When home brewers started experimenting in the 1970’s and 80’s this style led the way and today it is the most popular style of craft beer. Ours is an ‘homage to those first craft brewers that went looking for trouble.

Bottle shared by Herald. Really solid juicy new school hop tones. Citra. Nice UK feel with amped up new hops. Best Canadian IPA I’ve had.

500ml bottle. Cloudy orange with a frothy off-white head. Flavors are bread, biscuit, honey, tropical fruits, citrus, pine, peach, alcohol, caramel and apricot with grassy and dank notes. Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft texture.

Orange and grapefruit on the nose. Citrus and toast on the tongue with some pine and tropical fruit. Crisp, dry and bitter. Excellent.

Amber colour. Toasty, grapefruit, balanced, dry, bit of chewy malt. Another good pale - I’m not nuts about their other beers but they handle hops well.

650 ml bottle that I got at the brewery on October 9, 2014. Orange brown, small head. Sweet green hop aroma, some pin notes. The taste is similar, very dry, good malty peach notes, nice bitterness. Good beer, freaky label!

650ml bottle from Indie Ale House in Toronto, Ontario. Bottled in July 2014. Golden copper in colour with a lingering white head, excellent lacing. The aroma has loads of citrus and tropical fruits, some pine, some sweet malt. The flavour is quite hoppy with lots of citrus and pine, malt sweetness balance. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long with a good hop bitterness.

Tapped at the Indie Ale House brewpub. Overall a very good IPA. After a 2 km walk to the bar in high humidity covered Toronto this was my first beer and damn was it good! Biscuit malt, loads of citrus and bitter hops plus a refreshing character. A great IPA for me.

Bottle from the brewery store. Hazy peach-gold with a good sized white head. Punchy and pungent aroma that is heavy on the hops as expected - citrus, pine and tropical fruit all coming on strong - with a faint hint of sweet biscuit malt. Soft body with mellow carbonation, reminding me of a cask ale. Flavour follows the aroma, with big, fruity and floral hops, and a lingering finish of resin and orange peel. All of this without becoming aggressively bitter or astringent.

650 mL bottle. Hazy honey with a lacy white head. A touch of tropical fruit on the nose, peach, much citrus, a hint of pine and some very mild caramel malt tones. Bone dry and pleasantly bitter. Slightly thin for my palate, with light to moderate body and below average carbonation. Very refreshing.
