COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A key beer in the craft beer revolution. IPAs were originally made in the 1800’s in England with extra hops and alcohol to survive the long sea voyage from England to India for the troops there and became so popular for the refreshing bitter taste that the rest of the world soon caught on. When home brewers started experimenting in the 1970’s and 80’s this style led the way and today it is the most popular style of craft beer. Ours is an ‘homage to those first craft brewers that went looking for trouble.

Pours cloudy light amber colour with just a slight white head lacing the glass well. Mild citrus aroma. Taste is mild with medium bitterness and malt seems dominant.

Orange/copper pour with a frothy white head. Floral hop aroma. Citrus grapefruit hop flavour. Lovely bitterness. Very nice IPA.

On tap @ Wvrst TO. Pours a hazy orange/yellow with a small creamy white head. Aroma is tropical fruit. Taste is sour citrus like grapefruit. Bites the tongue with a highly astringent bitterness that lingers for quite a while. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

On tap at WVRST. Pours a slightly hazy gold with good head. Smell is moderately hoppy with citrus and grass. Palate is on the lighter side of medium bodied with good carbonation. Taste starts slightly sweet with a long bitter buildup giving way to a moderately bitter aftertaste. Not bad, but not the best.

Aroma fragrant hop feel, soft yet aromatic. Finish with sweet note of chamomile.7+
Appearance poured as murky amber with plus sized fine top.3+
Flavor and Palate : woody , black tea like bitterness. Plenty of tannins. Clean with slight citrus (orange) hints at mid. Some sweetness of malt as well. Quiet drinkable brew.

Cask. Dark orange a little hazy, white head. As others have mentioned, its got a load of citrus, some floral a little caramel sweetness. This is a nice clean hoppy ipa. It’s not as chewy as I like, but tasty and refreshing. Balanced. The cask adds a lovely softness.

(draught at the brewpub, 12-20-12) Pours a reddish orange with a foamy white head that left lace. Aroma has zesty citrus hops, lightly coniferous vegetal notes, caramel malts and some grain. Flavour is hop-forward, grapefruit zest, a little pit fruit and pine matched by a fairly hefty malt backbone of caramel and cereals with a little bit of spice. Any sweetness is mostly drowned out by fairly strong hop bitterness. Finishes quite bitter but not very astringent. Mouthfeel is moderately full and creamy. A very nicely put-together new world IPA.

My new fav. Amazing aroma of grapefruit and spice, perfect balance of body and malt, strong bitterness through out with a clean kick at the end. I’m told even better on cask when it can be found.

Nice citrus notes, earthy hops, fresh cut grass. Solid biscuity malts, cereals, and grains. The balance is quite impressive. Medium bitterness, citrus grassy finish.
