Black beer with brown head. Coffee is the aroma and flavor, medium bodied, aftertaste builds with roasted flavours. Could be a bit richer, fairly nice.

Solid porter! Good, rich malts, nice cocoa notes, with some nuttiness, and subtle hops. Great mouthfeel and carb. Finish is medium bitter with loads of nutty and chocolatey goodness.

On tap. Very dark brown, tan head. Nose is berry coffee, chocolate. Flavour also has vanilla, really well balanced between sweetness and bitterness. Really well done. So so smooth.

On tap at the brewery. Pours near black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate notes, some dough, light bitterness, and hints of sweetness. Flavor the same with a nice dark malt note and a dry, roasty finish. Average texture. A really good porter.

Tapped at the Barhop in Toronto/Canada. Pitch black color when flash lighted. Beige head. I can’t remember the aroma anymore, because we got a bit drunk that evening. Taste however was a balanced mild taste of dark chocolate, coffee beans and the oatmeal gave a kind of tasty smoothness. Overall a very good brew!

(On tap at the brewpub, Mar 8 2014) Pours a very dark brown with a small pale tan cap of tiny bubbles. Aroma of roast malt, a little coffee, slightly nutty. On the palate, dark malt provides initial sweetness alongside a medium roast, some chocolate. The oats make themselves known mid-palate with a dry cereal character, along with some hop bitterness towards the finish that cuts right through the malt sweetness. The finish is very dry and oaty with a bit of roast. Fairly full-bodied for a porter thanks to oats, a little creamy, soft carb. I like the notion but thought the oats ended up killing a bit of the flavour later on. Still pretty good.
