[5712-20130819] Tap. Suger-coated nut grain aroma. Hazy, brown orange body with a quick foamy white head. Sour nutty grains flavour has a toasted almond finish. Medium body. Really interesting to sample. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

Sampled at the brewery. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of sour/tart notes with a light rye spicy note and hints of light fruits plus some pale malts/bread. Flavor the same with the sourness slightly weird, but still very balanced. Average texture. Maybe the organisms used were off or it didn’t have enough time, but a good beer that can be refined to be great.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy apple cider look. The aroma is apple cidery, sour apple with a yeasty pie like quality and some malty notes. It has a medium body, good balance between acidity and malts has a real lemon pie like tartness that makes this beer very drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a golden orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is tart fruit, mostly apple. Flavour has a sour, but not puckeringly so, apple and hints of cherry with a little toasty graininess. Mellow carbonation. Pleasant.

On tap at Indie ale house. Great rye sour, not as good as my old spadina Monkey. Almost clear orangey color. Flavour is funky pit fruit and tart apples. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice light Belgian sour. Like a flander’s blonde if there was such thing. Pours blonde with good lacing and head. Some sour cherries and some crab apple. Nice finish, light sour. Soft carbonation on tap. Strong rye notes even out the sourness here. Nice light sour. On tap at Brewpub.

Tap at BarHop. Deep golden pour. The aroma is fairly tart. A lot of lacto flavour and aroma with an intense rye grain flavour. A lovely sort of rich grainy finish. Pretty interesting beer actually.

(Draught at brewpub, Aug 31 2013) Pours a clear pale yellow with the barest head of white bubbles, no lace. Aroma is sour-tart, lemon juice, some grainy notes in the background as it warmed. Flavour is clean sour-tart lemon juice up front, light but bracing acidity (slightly lactic?). In the late part of the palate the rye kicks in, grainy and slightly bready and peppery, cutting a lot of the sourness out. Kind of a tale of two beers, really. Carb is soft but the body quite light, perhaps too watery rather than crisp. I’m glad I tried it, but also just as a taster, because I like a bit more complexity in my sours and I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed a whole pint of this
