Mega - big and really good. Reminds of a US craft beer. Deep, rich bitter and malt notes in perfect balance but also a big velvety body. With som age this is a 10/10 beer. Love this one.

A dark brown IPA with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice chocolate coffee with loads of floral hops, meaty and licorice notes and menthol. Pours dark black with tan coloured head that laces the glass perfectly. Has just a faint aroma that is hard to pick up. Taste is mild sweet with a light bitterness.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 solidfunk (1790) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 7, 2013
Not quite sure how to place this one.kind of a floral bitter beer. Not sure if it quite jumps the shark, if its witchshark we are referring to. Pours very dark with wonderful carpet lacing and creamy head. Smells boozy and floral. Tase is bitter, bordering on astringency without being unpleasant. Adds a grapefruit peel note. Medium to low carbonation. On tap at brewpub.

Overheard: "I’m quite racist with my beer."
[4977C-20121129] Cask. Mild fruity note in the aroma but is mostly dark dusty malty fresh grains. Black body with a medium-lasting creamy tan head. Dark roast chocolate malt flavour has hints of coffee on the edges. Full body. Delicious and very drinkable. (8/4/9/4/17) 4.2

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 blankboy (5152) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 18, 2012
Draught at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown with a small frothy off-white head and some lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel or toffee along with light leafy hops and some light sugary sweetness. Flavour is malty along with some alcohol, cocoa and leafy hops. The alcohol is very slightly off-putting. Medium bodied. Pretty good.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JoeMcPhee (7622) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 16, 2012
Dark brown pour. The nose is softly spicy with a little bit of fruit. Lots of spicy/noble hop aroma over the malts. It's pretty dry and well attenuated but it also has a roasty sort of maltiness. Some dry cocoa along with spicy and fruity hoppiness. Sticky/resiny hop bitterness. Pretty nice black IPA.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2012 2012-11-29. Very dark brown body with a nice tan head and lace. Nice aroma, mild hops and dark roast malt. 7++ Flavour has nice malty core, with dry roast character up front and a sweet malty core. Good amount of bitterness and green hops in the finish. Alcohol is not particularly noticable. 7+ Smooth medium bodied palate. 3+ Less assertively hoppy (it is apparently a few months old?) than the version on tap at Indie Alehouse but quite pleasant and very drinkable. 7/4/8/3+/16-17 On tap at Amsterdam Movember Event
2012-11-17. Black, nice tan head and lace. 4+ Lots of leafy green hops in the aroma, mild yeasty notes. 7++ Pretty subtle, lovely leafy green hops in the flavour, light cocoa and roast, dusty malt undercurrents. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate is pleasantly carbonated. 3+ Really nice stuff, Black IPA like. I regret not getting a second one in hindsight. 8/4/8/4/16 On tap at Indie Alehouse, Toronto
