bottle at dak’s 9/5/10.
pale lemonade color with a thin white head.
it smells like a wet pair of chuck taylors... wheat, canvas and lots of rubber.
tap water with a lemon wedge and canvas bag juice are the best way to describe the flavor... not good.
thin, watery and blech. 5/3/3/2/10-

Clear apple juice color pour with minimal head. Light aroma of citrus and yeast. Very light flavor of sweet malt, lemon peel and spice. No big deal.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, Florida, USA - NOV 22, 2010
12 oz. bottle. Pours a lightly hazy, pale yellowish-golden color with a tiny, off-white head. Quickly dissipating to a thin, bubbly edge, the head leaves just scant traces of lace spotting behind. The nose is fairly standard witbier fare, starting out with a clean, fresh wheat and cereal grain base, followed by notes of light lemon peel and (thankfully) even lighter coriander. Hints of perfumy flower petals and maybe a touch of flaked oats round things out. Flavors too are light and easy going, failing to overly impress or offend. Lemon adds a touch of tartness, while lightly crackery yeast dries out the slight wheat base. Coriander is nice and subtle, but it does add a touch of needed bitter edge. Thin bodied, but appropriately moderate and soft on carbonation, the palate is just about par for the witbier coarse....maybe a little too thin. Overall, while it is far from exciting, it is a very drinkable beer, particularly on a hot summer day.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 kbutler1 (1115) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 4, 2010
Bottle. Poured into a tulip glass a slightly hazed very pale straw color with very minimal head that collars around the edge of the glass. The aroma is that of white grape, citrus, very slight spice, and wheat. This is actually very bland tasting BUT easy drinking at that. Very slight citrus and banana type notes. Sweet white grape like start. Light/medium mouthfeel. On a hot day this would probably be refreshing but it isn’t the best example of the style. Very little head and zero lace.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 dionysus (1443) - Arizona, USA - SEP 10, 2010
Bottle pours a lightly hazy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is grainy and semi-tart with a slight funk thing going on. Flavor shows the same grainy wheat, reinforced with seems like quite a healthy dose of coriander giving it that "fruity pebble" quality. Overall body is light, thin and finishes dry.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Brigadier (1940) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - AUG 30, 2010
12 oz bottle
I am extremely glad that I was not stuck with more of this. Unlike the dubbel which was just run of the mill this was a watered down ghost of a true witbier. It tasted more like a standard pale ale than anything that deserves the label of a true Belgian. I would skip on this one as there are plenty of other good local beers worth the liver time.
Aroma / Appearance - The pale golden body was far too light for a wit bier with no cloudiness. Stark white head surfaced like clean white clothes which have just been run through the washing machine. White pepper and lemon zest are just not enough to give this the oomph that a good wit should have. It smells as if this was the second runnings.
Flavor / Palate - Carbonated lemonade provided a sweet fruity note that was competely out of character. Fast fading I had to drink almost the entire bottle to get a hang of what was going on. This was more like some sort of cooler than a wit beer. Even though it is supposed to be a light style it should have more presence than this. With a different label it could be more popular.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 cheapdark (2965) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 23, 2010
Smell is a little off. Hasome gunk in the bottom that creates a swirling dizzy pour. Above average tartness for a wit. Nice white beer appearence. Taste has some funk but not as much as other indigos I’ve tasted. Does not really seem to be more than 5%, hides alky well, seems more like 4%. Citrus sizzly feel to this stuff, like a watered down lemon er sumthin. Interesting brew almost belgian in nature, but with an an eastern american twist. No real bitterness on the finsh. becomes friendly during the session. Good, but not as good as some of those other II beers.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nephilium (954) - Ohio, USA - JUN 19, 2010
This pours a hazy yellow, with a quickly fading head, and an aroma of lemon, spice and wheat. There’s a bit of tartness, with a creamy mouthfeel and a bit of lemon zest. Very gentle finish, and very drinkable in the hot days of summer.
