(12oz bottle, courtesy of blutt59) Pours a hazy golden body with a medium white head. Aroma of cinnamon, Belgian yeast, citrus, and caramel. Flavor of grass, Belgian yeast, orange, peach, and caramel.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 beerchugger (708) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - SEP 10, 2011
Pours a bit copper with a thin head. Smells of belgian yeasts and spices with a caramel malt backbone in there. Really no hop presence in the nose. Starts out good, but the taste turns odd providing no hops on the palate at all. It really tastes as though something went wrong in the bottle. Sour funk but in a rather wrong way, the hops seemed to have left altogether.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 joshwilfong (1200) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - FEB 21, 2011
hazy orange with large white head. nose of citrus hops and touch of belgian esters. some bitterness before citrus hop flavors intermixed with some belgian esters with a bit of funk, surprisingly there is some alcoholic astringency, though i guess the abv is near 7%. overall an interesting brew
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 kbutler1 (1115) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 4, 2010
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazed rust orange amber color with a big bubbled white 1 finger head that settles rather quickly. Pretty malty aroma with notes of biscuit and caramel. Minimal hops. Medium mouthfeel. The taste has a sweet start with flavors of caramel and some spice. Hops kick in at the end with a slight bitterness. Ends with a lingering bitterness.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ddemmingjr (387) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - SEP 28, 2010
Pours a cloudy dark golden, medium head.Cereal malt, subtle citrus and spice on the nose. At first slightly sweet, but agree with the brewer the balanced bitterness leaves a nice bitter finish that leaves you wanting more. This beer has potential and is enjoyable.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Brigadier (1940) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - SEP 7, 2010
12 oz bottle
The last of the three special beers to try this one was probably the best by a thin margin. Despite the lack of hops in a "india pale ale" it had enough depth that I was actually interested in finishing the entire bottle. If any of them make a comeback I hope that this is the one chosen.
Aroma / Appearance - The blood orange body and yellowed head (like old newspaper exposed to sunlight) gives this a nice visual warmth. Sweet citrus is not hoppy at all - instead the dominant factor is a mix of grapefruit juice and cotton candy extract. This has balance but is a trace feeble.
Flavor / Palate - Creamy and sweet the mouthfeel coats the tongue with a gooey texture. Mango or peach gelato provides the transition to the candy like finish. This is an ideal warm summer beer if served at the right temperature. As it warmed the flaws were highlighted. By the time I got to the last sip I was ready to move on. Overall this is not a bad experiment but it could use improvement.
1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 cheapdark (2965) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 4, 2010
Big wafing dull aroma of unsharp hops. Color is darker than a pale lager and it pours clear from the bottle since it was done gently, there is a lot of gunk on the bottom of the bottle. Big strong beldgy flavor, forget about IPA this is a belgian strong ale, wew. Seems stronger than 7% to me. Nice lacing on the side of the glass. Has a citrus note in there someplace my taste buds said. Long bitter strong ale linger, volatile alky. Unlike most any other IPA I’ve tasted, not sure if it should be listed in this style. Does not live up to the expectations I had after drinking a few of the other indigo imps.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 daknole (5865) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 29, 2010
Lightly hazy orange pour, moslty white head. Aroma is a mix of herbal hops, yeast, apples juice and white bread. Flavor is sweet up front followed by a light earthy hop notes. Like a slighlty hopped golden ale. Ok.

(12oz bottle thanks to blutt59) opaque orange with a lsting film of bubbles. Nose of bandaid, oranges, white pepper, cinnamon and cream. Taste of big cinnamon, coriander, lightly spice, unsweetened citrus fruits and honey. Finish is oily but dry (if that even makes sense) with medium carbonation.
