4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2012 [*EDIT* THIS is the reason I keep trying new beers. It is everything I hope for when I open a new bottle. Absolutely brilliant.]My first Indigo Imp beer, bottle in a mixed six from the grocery store. Pours a very dark brown, tiny tan head disappears quickly. Light lacing left on glass, fairly low carbonation. Nice roasty/toasty and coffee notes, perhaps a hint of chocolate and some sort of nuts, but nothing really dominant that I can pick out. Aftertaste is chocolatey coffee, and delightful. The low sweetness is nice, as I donít like overly sweet porters. This is a very, very tasty bottle-conditioned concoction. I will definitely see what else Indigo Imp has to offer. Seems like another fine brewery doing things right here in the Cleveland and Akron area.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle bought at GBBF 2013 and drunk at home. Dark brown colour with a small tan coloured head. Mild chocolate and caramel aroma, with some slightly sour dark fruit. Quite high in carbonation. A little light in body, and somewhat disappointing really.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Opaque black with a noisy, fizzy 2" head, too carbonated for lace. Taste is bitter chocolate malt that adds earthy dark fruit through the palate on its way to a fizzy, still the same bitter, finish. Long after the finish thereís a nice hop residue left on the tongue. I understand this is 5%. If so, the taste is much bigger than one might expect.

Opaque dark brown - black beer. Small tan head. Palate is airy and crisp. Light dark malts. Sourish fruits - mostly apple! Little paint and glue ester. Dark fruits in the light airy finish. Wonky!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from GBBF 2013 drunk at home. Dark brown near black beer with a lasting thin tan head. Some choc on the aroma and flavour and some newspaper as well. Malts could be a bit fuller to be honest. Some slightly sour fruit on this. Slight bonfire. Yes a bit of sourness. Needs more malts for me for a porter. Sour dark fruit and smoke are quite interesting though. Still itís just slightly below average.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle, from Burritos & Beer in Athens, OH for $1.75. Nearly black color. Little lighter brown head. Little loose lace. Medium body. Kind of soft and sharp, stronger carbonation. More dry in the finish. Good toasty malts, nice dark chocolate note, lightly nutty. Good earthy, lightly piney herbal hops. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Light.. tart. Decent robust porter. I dig the aroma, but the texture and taste arenít great.

355mL thanks to mattyg. Pours clear, darker brown looking black in the glass. Medium tan head fizzing out quickly. No retention and lace. Nose is pretty solid coffee, hazelnut, vanilla. Taste is quite thin, lemon tea pervasive. Some gritty coffee and tart acid.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
pours an awesome black with a decent dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate covered cherries and small coffee notes, fruity aroma is making me think that again indigo imp has used some sort of belgian yeast. taste is dark chocolate covered cherry, roasty malts, some coffee, not enough hops for me to call this a porter. once again from this brewer, they have made a great beer, just poor for the style they list it under.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Overly carbonated, which took away from the flavor. Nose of roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Not really worth writing about.
