The Jester has been a source of humor and a confidant of Royalty. Was he a fool, or was he wise enough to play one? Enjoy this Impish pale ale and ponder.

Unusual for today’s APA’s not to have a hoppy flavor, but this brew does that, I’m not sure why. Poured like a weak Hefe wheat beer. Had more of a summer fruity flavor. Medium body, overall not bad to ok range. I just question this being an APA.

Cloudy in appearance. Fruity and yeasty aroma. Lemon, yeast, fruit and a sour flavour. Not what I expected from a US beer.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy and yellow with lots of acidic ,sulphur like flavours Reminded me of a poorly bottled bottle conditioned ale. Which strangely enough is what it is. One to avoid.

355ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden-orange with a decent head, some of which hangs around until the halfway stage. The nose is definitely Belgian with a big yeasty thing going on - lemon sorbet and something grassy in particular. The taste has orange zest, orange cream and then a drying yoghurt finish. The palate has a medium to large body with a big creamy texture and a elegant creamy ending, Overall, I really like this, but it’s not an American IPA. It’s a Belgian style.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2011 Bottle... Poured hazy golden with a white head. Some definite off flavors tasted like throwup and diapers, hints of citrus hops, and drying towards the finish.

Cloudy apricot pour with a big fluffy white head. Coriander and banana up front in the nose with some dusty yeasty notes. Flavor is very creamy, over carbonated by a bit...lots of coriander and mandarin oranges followed by a very light hop bite. Not bad.

12oz bottle thanks to Ryan011235. The appearance is - WTF - extremely murky orange with a quickly fading off-white head. Looks disgusting. The smell is rather wheaty with a bit of orange, almost like Blue Moon, which is not good. The flavor is rather citric with sweet caramel and spice, with an acrid, off-putting finish. Man, this is rough. Falls flab on the mouthfeel with some astringency and medium-light body. Well, Ryan described Indigo Imp as the Indian Wells of Ohio, and judging by this beer, he’s not far off. This is bad, and not at all close to what a pale ale should be.
