3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3977) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden amber color with a small foamy yellow-white head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet an yeasty with notes of pine and tropical fruits. The flavor was tangy and a bit tart with sugar and strong tropical fruits. Long sugar and tropical fruit finish. Moderately full bodied. Well done.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 DiarmaidBHK (2274) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 29, 2013
Bottle from Vintage estate. Pours brown with a thin head but a fair amount of carbonation. Has kind of a fruitiness on the nose. Tastes a bit off. Maybe that’s what they were going for. Not much hoppiness or malt. Ugh!
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Dogbrick (6033) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 26, 2013
Sample at the Big Tap In on 04/20/2013. Pours a slightly cloudy orange-gold color with a medium off-white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast and lemons. Light to medium body with flavors of banana, yeast and citrus. The finish is tart with an overripe fruit and yeast aftertaste. Barely average overall.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 mikesaum (426) - Newark, Ohio, USA - DEC 29, 2012
pours murky amber with a tannish head. Aroma is kinda muted, some fruity hints, belgian aroma, smells like belgian yeast. Taste is very belgian as well, it has a spicy bite to it, doesnt seem like a pale ale at all, this seems straight up belgian with lots of fruity tones and a spicy yeast. overall its a great brew, but a piss poor pale ale.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DoublEE (509) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - AUG 15, 2012
I appreciate the brewery trying to do unique things, but calling this a pale ale with the Belgian yeast that they are using is just wrong. Open air fermenting is cool, but if your beer is so radical, why not describe it better on the label.
