NOT Negro Modelo! Offered at the resort as dark or liht with Sol. Tastes pretty much like Sol with some caramel colouring and a dash of flavouring. Not much dark malt or extra quality.

Sampled at La Dolce Restaurant in Cabo San Lucas, Mx. This was my favorite macro I had in Mexico. Appearance is cola color with a nice light tan head. Malt defines both the aroma and flavor offering a nice sweetness. Body is and smooth. A pleasant surprise.

Pours a dark bronze-brown with a very thin head. Lightly toasted malts with some caramel as well. Flavor is a light sweet caramel followed by toasty malts and some ripe dried fruits...apricots and peaches. Clean, but watery finish. Solid Mexican beer.

Pours a sparkling dark copper color with thin white head. Light malt aromas with hints of caramel. Pleasantly light bodied with good carbonation. Gentle sweet cereal grain taste that gives way to a moderate, well-balanced hop bitterness, and a short, somewhat dry finish. During my high school and college days in the Mexican Bars of Matamoros and Reynosa, Taumalipas, we affectionately called this beer "Apache," and was a favorite of ours. Excellent session beer, try with cabrito asado or a Tampiquena plate (fajitas and enchilas). Un Apache, por favor!

Mmm, I guess the best of large produced beers in Mexico, at least from Cuahutemoc - Moctezuma brewery. I’m really happy to get an above average product in next door shop. Nice combination of strong taste into a bit wattery liquid, that make it great to combine with Mexican food and adventuring to drink one more. Cheers

Sampled again, pretty recently: pours a nice deep clear brown body with a full malted mouthfeel. refreshing, not a whole lot of flavor but decent and holds down a clean finish.

A little less malty than Bohemia in my opinion, which makes it more sessionable- but it doesn’t really make that much of a difference. one of the key attractions to this beer is that it is not imported into the US, you have to sample it in Mexico. That said, the lightness of the roast and the decent hops allow it to pair well with mildly flavored dishes like fish tacos, but it is still complex and distinct enough in flavor that you realize you are drinking something that was brewed with good intentions. Definitley my favorite Mexican beer so far, closely follwed by Modelo Especial.

This was a beer served in Puerta Vallarta at the Palace Vallarta. It was served with Sol also on tap. It had a bit more flavor. It was the best of beers served. beautiful place but not much on beer flavor.

Appearance: dark copper to clear mahogany color. Medium, lasting and some dense head with beige color.
Aroma: to caramel and semi-toast malts smells. Others aromas like sugar and ripe-peaches.
Flavor: some insipid. Light sweet start with caramel and semi-toast grains taste. Some reminiscences of vanilla, peel of red apple and dried-peaches. Slight dryness from toast and some of the herbal-hops.
Palate: light body and watery texture. Medium carbonation.
