3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Hi-Time. Pours ruddy dark amber with a very transient head. Moderate malty aroma. Little hop noticeable. Med + body. Flavor is malty in a lightly roasty way. Could pass for Oktoberfest. It’s not exactly dry, and it’s moderately bitter. Could do for a session beer.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
I used to like this more than some of the other crappy Mexican lagers but I think I’d certainly rather have a Montejo or Leon these days. Good old reliably cheap can o junk. Some rusty copper aroma and mash malt.

Clear golden amber pour with small off white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, grains and corn. Taste of malts, grains, caramel and sweet corn. Light bodied, medium carbonation, faint hops on the finish.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Little on the nose. Maybe some caramel and malt, but not much aroma. Pours golden amber, light lacing. This is a macro-style amber lager; a touch of malt, a bit of caramelly roast, some light hopping, but an overall watery finish that leaves a hint of bitter. Meh.

I drank this at some oportunities at Mexico-City. It is a drinkable amber beer,,nothing special, grainy, few hop, caramel, a bit watery, perfect for hot days with mexican spicy snacks.

Bottle. Hey, it is what it is -- if you’re expecting anything other than a starch-heavy, corn-tinged, mass-produced run-of-the-mill American lager, don’t be a hater. Slightly colored, but not in the realm of Vienna-style beers. I’d called it a ’tweener. (#6170, 4/18/2016)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle, in Mexico, a couple of weeks ago. Served with lime. Asked for a glass, and barkeep didn’t quite understand, had to crank out a little rusty espanol to help him understand.
Poured a medium caramel color, because it was such a small glass, not a lot of head. It was slightly amber color. Little retention, almost no lacing.
Aroma was slightly caramel sweet, and brready. Not a lot to write about here.
Taste was okay, it was similar to Corona and other Mexican beers, but perhaps a little better. The lime doesn’t really help this one out that much, but I did it anyway because the barkeep kept insisting on it. Slightly sweet, caramel and a touch of hops, but only a touch.
Mouthfeel was light, and it had a slightly grainy texture to it.
Overall, it was okay. I wasn’t super impressed. I only got it because I had never heard of it before. But it was better than Corona. Would I recommend it, no...but I would buy it again to remember the fun times I had.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Another small 1.2l bottle in Playa del Carmen. Caramel brown colour. Some inviting hop spiciness in the aroma, which sadly vanished by the time came to taste. High carbonation. Not quite bitter enough, a bit flabby and corny, some caramel malt sweetness. Not too bad.

16 oz can at Panic en la Playa cinco. Deep amber appearance with a small head. Mild malt aroma with hints of caramel and corny grains. Similar flavor, nutty malts and husky grains. Smooth and fairly clean for a Mexican domestic beer. Light to medium body. Better than expected overall.
