COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hvedebock offers a soft body dominated by dark malt, spicy aroma, and fruity vinousity. Hvedebock is great for a cool summer evening on the terasse, or a evocative fall day at the fireplace. Enjoy it accompanying cheeses, oven braised game, or stews made of beef. Hvedebock is brewed from generous use of barley- and wheat malts. Hvedebock should be served at cellar temperature. Pour the beer in a huge glass and give it time to develop. Shake the last 10-15 ml. before pouring.

Aroma: Sweet raisins, some sherry and orange notes.
Appearance: A dusty dark chestnut, an off-white high head, no lacing, some curtains.
Taste: A sweet brown bread start, hard toasted crust, chocolate with orange marmalade, figs.
Palate: Little carbonation, soft and sticky, a big body, a light dry finish.
Overall: An interesting sweet compact wheat beer.
Note: Bottle 330 ml. Reviewed 2012-09-21.

One of the best in the series. Pours a clear medium brown, with small to medium off-white head. Aroma is smoky, roasted malt, toasty, some bread and caramel, with a hint of earth. Taste is towards the sweet side, but with a hint of bitterness. Body is medium full, with a lingering bitter finish.

Good smell and taste. The flavor keeps inside her long and even finish. I thought this beer would be good at all but it was okay as me. Pretty mediocre beer.

Bottle at home. Pours a very deep clear brown colour with a medium beige head. Nice sweet aroma of leather, dried fruit, dark chocolate and lactose. More of the same in the flavours but with more roast and coffee. Soft and creamy mouth feel, and light bitterness. A light and great weizen bock. Wonderful aroma and a nice balance.

What? Can a weizen bock be this dark? Cool! The body is dark brown, almost black and quite murky with lots of particles of all sizes. Large, creamy, long-lived, light-brown head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is strong and doesn’t remind me of a wheat beer at all, this is roasted malt all over the place! It’s sweet with lots of caramel and a good deal of dark dried fruits, lots of raisins. There might also be some sourish yeasty notes far in the back. The taste is heavy sweet with a light bitterness in the finish, and also a very light sourness. Quite strong roasted flavours with caramel, dark dried fruits and mild coffee. And deep down there I think I get some spicy hints. Full body with a thick, oily texture and very soft carbonation. I really like the thick sweet sugary feel of this one and the roasted notes are delicious. The definition of a weizen bock is obviously very loose, this one isn’t remotely close to the other beers of this style I’ve tried. And I’ve tried lots of them, 3 to be exact.

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Ultradyprød. Høyt luftig, litt farget skum som varer. Forsiktig aroma av søt malt. Smaken er søt. Veldig søt. Bare det. Antydning til litt bitterhet i avslutninga.

Bottle Unclear black beer with a big tan head. Sweet aroma of roasted malt with notes of caramel and wheat and a little yeast. The flavor is sweet with roasted notes and caramel and banana. Dry and bitter finish after the hard-toasted malt
