COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Hvede I.P.A.

Strange beer. Smells strange. Tastes barely anything at all. The aftertaste is a little citrusy. Dignified boring beer to be IPA. Would this finding in a double IPA, it would probably be much better. This beer was not good.

50 cl bottle. BBE 23.01.2013, rated on 04.09.2012
Aroma has citrus, some hay and orange. Flavour has lots of soapy citrus and some fruity hops that linger for a long time. An overhopped belgian wit like Mikkeller NJAW. Just a bit worse though.

500 ml bottle. Thanks Timo A.
Pours a hazy orange colour with a small white creamy head. Aroma of floral hops, mandarin orange, yeast and some pine. Flavour of wheat, grains, floral hops, mandarin orange, yeast and white bread. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes grainy, wheaty and light bitter finish. Interesting, that’s all I can say.

50 cl bottle @ TimoA. BBE 23.01.2013.
Pours wheat golden color with a small head. Aroma of ripe bananas, hops, wheat, yeast, some spice notes, nettle, citrus fruits and grass. Flavor of citrus fruits, hops, grass, mild yeast and goose berries. Odd but quite nice.

Bottle. Hazy golden apricot color with a rich white head. Fruity banana aroma, perfume, grapefruit, hop notes, bready, some spicy notes, biscuits, grapes, apples, some pepper. Banana flavor, sourish, grassy, grapefruit, a bit thin, bready, maybe some mash, some citrus. A bit dull. Dry grassy perfume finish with spices and some citrus.

I feel that this has more hops than the traditional German wheat beers. It’s pretty good, but unfortunately lost a bit of the tangy freshness.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy orange colour with a small off-white head. Sweet and fruity aromas with a distinct touch of spices and coriander, herbs and banana. The fruity flavour is dominated by grains, hops, spices and some sweet corn. Feels a bit unbalanced but gets better after a couple of mouthfuls. Soft and sparkly mouthfeel. Bitterness = light+. A good mix of IPA and wheat ale, but more a spicy wheat ale.

Bottle @ Rene’s house. Thanks a bunch for picking these up! Fairly clear, golden appearance with a white head. Somewhat herbal, lemon citrusy, a touch piney aroma. A touch tangy, grapefruit, light banana, herbal hoppy flavor. Kind of a cool beer.
