COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Julehvede (Christmas Wheat) is reddish as dark amber and has a fine, smooth maltflavour. The beer has a fine balance between cinnamon and a light spiced sweet with a touch of cloves. Julehvede is full bodied and is perfectly suited for the traditional Christmas Lunch or Christmas Eve dinner. A smooth beer that taste like christams smells. Julehvede is brewed on 6 different malts. The beer is to be served at 6 - 8 celcius in a hefeglass, so aroma and head is perfectly displayed.

Bottle, thanks Anders. Light hazy, orange-red with a large head, some lacings. Aroma moderate malty (wheat, roasted caramel). Flavor light/moderate sweet and acidic. Light body despite the strength.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown colour with a huge mostly lasting beige creamish head leaving a good lacing. Aroma of wheat, caramel, spices and toasted malt. Rather flat mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with wheat, caramel, toasted malts, hops, some spices and a bit fuitish. Dry toasty wheaty finish.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2007 On tap at Pegasus. Pours a murky light brown with a slightly tanned head. Veryswet with lots of sugar and wheat. Slightly bready. Low carbonation. Medium bodied. Slightly sticky mouthfeel and a bit cloying towards the end.

Bottled. Thanks Reza, Tre Små Rum. Hazy amber colour with creamy head. Raw malt aroma with lots of sweetiness and spices. Sticky sweet in flavour and low on the wheat. Lacking in phenols and esters. Not a German Hefe. But then, what is it?

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2010 Hazy orange with a firm off-white head. Bread, grain and grass aromas. Sweet and malty flavour with bread crust notes, and mild spices like clove and cinnamon - a bit too sweet for me, but filled with Christmas

Ølfestival Horsens 2006. My first sample at the festival. The color is beautiful dark amber with a warm red hue. The aroma is "Christmas" with spices like cinnamon and clove, but only in a subdued and nice way in the overall impression. I find the same notes in the flavour, that is full-bodied and has a nicely balanced sweetness with notes of fruits like tangerine. Even if it’s sweet, full and has a solid body - it still is refreshing and not at all cloying. I really like this one. 1615

Draught. Weak wheat aroma. Cloudy brown colour, small head. Fruity flavour. Not very flavourful, especially considering ABV.

Bottled. Unclear, golden-orange wheat with a beige head. Quite sweet nose, with caramel and a spicy touch. The flavor is spicier, with hints of strawberry. Medium body and a finish with caramel and some spicyness. (061222)
