I don’t think anyone from the inner city would be interested in drinking this. Has a sour fruit skin nose, reminiscent of a malt liquor. Watery and bland with a light biscuity maltiness. Let’s hope they learn how to make better beer.

Pours with a golden body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s sweet and fruity with a slight malt note and an underlying bitter hoppiness. Light to medium bodied and smooth with a touch of dryness.

Thanks to beeryum for this. Pours dark straw with medium white head. Aroma of raisin bread, prunes, some malt. Tastes tart, with hopcit, some lemongrass, and raisins. Very dry, tart finish.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2004 The beer came is an elegant brown bottle with a black strip pasted across the cap announcing this beer to be just under the 5.9% ABV cap. The beer poured out a hazy golden yellow color with fizzy short lived head. The carbonation level was very lively and appeared to not subside during the entire session of drinking. The lacing on the sides of the glass was also quite a bit better than most lagers. The smell was very faint with a note of husky soured grains and some noble hops. The malts displayed a refreshing lemony sourness and a distinctly smoky zing. It was also a bit metallic in character. The hops were generally subdued with not a lot of bitterness. The mouthfeel was quite good for the style. It was substantial and filling and did not feel watered down. This is a first beer for Inner City Brewing Company (which claims to be Atlanta’s first African American owned brewery), and is contract brewed by Atlanta Brewing Company. I like this first effort, and look forward to more offerings from them.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2003 Not very impressive at all. Heavy malt taste that is not balanced by anything tastes like an upscale malt liquor. Very bland flavor with a bad aftertaste. I couldn't recommend this beer to anyone.

Okay, there was absolutely nothing premium about this lager. The pours is yellow and hazy, with some light carbonation adding to the mouthfeel, but the flavor is very one-sided and dense, with nothing really coming through, except for that crappy lager aftertaste.
