Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Brewed by Belhaven for Innis & Gunn
Ingredients: Golden Promise and crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

bottle. Pale golden amber color, short thick foamy off-white head. Aroma is whiskey and butter, oak chips, some toffee and crystal malt, butterscotch too. Flavor is different, starts dry, woody, and skunky then toffee/crystal malt. Some whiskey & water, lots of carbonation, and a skunkwatery finish. Oaky bitter aftertaste.

330mL bottle - pours golden with a minimal white head. Aroma vanilla, oak and butterscotch. Flavour is a weak combination of these. Slight bitterness at the end. Quite dull / boring for all that’s in it. Drinkable, but nothing special.

I would have to say his is one of the most unique beers I;ve had. Every flavr is over the top. Oak,vanilla, butterscotch. Not to mention the sweetness of honey. Aroma of skunk or wet ashtry, but sweet.

Bottle. Poured a amber blonde witha foamy head. Light honey and caramel nose. Slightly creamy mouthful with some sweetness and light hops. Some oak notes and pretty smooth. The barrel aging adds to the mix but the base beer is only decent.

The flavor is very sweet, with hints of caramel, honey, vanilla and a little malt. To sweet for my taste, also a little thin. Must say that I quickly "got tired" of the beer.

i think ill just agree with the last posting, very interesting beer, had it after having a very bitter stout so at first the taste was very welcoming malty, but then by the finish i had had enough, lots of honey and vanilla tastes, too sweet for me.
