dornoy (636), Lyngby, Denmark Dec 29, 2005 Medium head on a caramel brown body. It has a very rich aftertaste, slightly reminding of whisky, perhaps due to ts maturing in noak kask - I wouldn’t be susprised if the cask had contained whisky previously. It all makes for a very refreshing taste. Definitely one of my favourite Scottish beers.
Steely (37), , Sweden Oct 11, 2008 Pours a clear golden color with very thin white head. Interesting aroma with hints of honey, oakwood, citrus and fresh green apples. Thin watery flavor of sour applejuice, oakwood and walnut with a sour alcoholic finishing. Mouthwatering sourness and thin watery body JF_GRIND (1220), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 10, 2008 Co-worker got a case for his birthday and I was able to wrestle a bottle away from him. Scottish brewers add dimension to their portfolio with whiskey-oaked English Strong Ale. Woody, vanilla, whiskey sweetened ale that I found unique and enjoyable. rocbyter (672), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Oct 5, 2008 Sour oak aroma. Clear orange color with a small white head. Moderate oak flavor to start off. Finishes with a creamy vanilla taste. Excellent. Merci Thierry
