Jun 9, 2004 Updated: Dec 29, 2005An amber or nutbrown beer with a fine yellow head. The aroma is very fruity and very hoppy with notes of strawberries. The flavor is sweet malty with a very hoppy end. A really good beer. Compared to the cask strength, this is boring.

Sep 26, 2004 Bottled. Dark amber. Aroma of honey and oak. Sweet and clean with obvious cask character. Notes of vanilla and sugar. Low bitterness. Too light bodied. Lovely aroma, but a bit empty.

Jan 23, 2007 (Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear, warm amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving some lacework. Aroma is pure whisky. Medium body with lightly sweet malt and caramel. Otherwise pleasant notes of wood and whisky with a dry and alcoholic finish. 180107

Oct 31, 2005 Bright copper colour. Vanilla, wood and caramel aromas shoot forth. The flavour is sweet. Grainy notes are infused with prominent wood and vanilla. A refined, drinkable beer, if a little lacking in complexity.

Malty aroma with notes of grain and alcohol.
Sweet malty flavour with notes of alcohol.
I can’t taste that it’s oak aged.
