COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
2009 version brewed to a different recipe and with a higher alcohol level 7.7% vs. 6.4% of the 2006/2007 version). Included in an Innis & Gunn gift pack released to the Canadian market for fall/winter 2009. From the label: "The unique flavour of IPA originated in the 1800s during long sea journeys on the trade routes between Britain and India. Beers were transported in oak barrels containing hops, which preserved freshness, and arrived having absorbed the character of both the oak and the hops. We are delighted to present this Limited Bottling of IPA which has been oak aged with the addition of large quantities of fresh hops giving this beer a burst of orange aromas and a zesty fruity character."

Pale golden with small white head. Malty with fruity tones. Malt, oak and bitterness. Medium body with a balanced aftertaste.

330mL bottle poured a pale amber color with big white head settling quickly to lace. Aromas of caramel and mild hops. Taste is a quite sweet maltiness with a mild hop bitterness in the finish. Would have scored higher marks if there was a bolder hop presence. Quite disappointing for the style.

330 ml bottle. Finland.
Clear deep golden colour with small white head. Strong sweet malty aroma with sugary and vanilla sweetness. Mild fruitiness, no bitterness in flavour. Sweet sugary (whiskey) notes. Thick. Too sweet and not quite IPA like.

33 cl bottle @ EEIPAF. No BBE info
Typical I&G aroma hits my nose immediately when pouring. Vanilla, barrell, aged fruits. Flavour has vanilla and harsh hops, aftertaste has a lot of somewhat unpleasant wood. Still don’t like I&G house flavour with overwhelming vanilla and wood.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a light copper colour with a small white head. Aroma of sweet honey with some hops. Flavour of very sweet honey, caramel malts, oak, candi sugar, grassy hops and hay. Alcohol burns in the finish. Also caramel and honey too. Way too sweet and not an IPA at all.

Bottle from Peckhams Union Square. It pours amber, with a thin fizzy white head and high carbonation. The nose is sweet malt, hay, white sugar, brioche and caramelized banana. The taste is brioche, toasted malt, hay, grass, white sugar and some alcohol warmth, with a sweet malt finish. A bit too sweet for my liking.
