| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Amber/copper color with an off-white head. The oak aroma and flavor gives the sweet vanilla, butter, malt and caramel. A little strong on the aftertaste of the still lingering oak. Different. But different good or different bad.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 18, 2009 This beer pours a nice maple brown colour with a small white head. The aroma is good with vanilla and toffee evident. The flavour is somewhat muted but there is hints of butterscotch, vanilla and a woody, whisky taste. Overall it is nothing special but it is unique. madmitch76 (526), , Essex, England

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2009 This is quite a unique tasting beer. It is thick and syrupy. The flavor is a heavy malt, tasting like hard butterscotch candy. Very sweet, oozing with honey. BeerChaser0078 (322), Melbourne, Australia
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Bottle. Clear amber pour with a short lived white head. Aroma has notes of honey, caramel, vanilla, butterscotch and malt. Flavour isn’t as sweet as the aroma but is otherwise almost identical, the vanilla notes imparted by the oak standing out even more. Light bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel and a short dry finish, this is an alright beer but pretty thin for an ESA. Pleasant but wouldn’t drink more than one in a sitting. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 6, 2009 bottle. Pale golden amber color, short thick foamy off-white head. Aroma is whiskey and butter, oak chips, some toffee and crystal malt, butterscotch too. Flavor is different, starts dry, woody, and skunky then toffee/crystal malt. Some whiskey & water, lots of carbonation, and a skunkwatery finish. Oaky bitter aftertaste. mcberko (136), British Columbia, Canada

Flavour is a weak combination of these. Slight bitterness at the end. Quite dull / boring for all that’s in it. Drinkable, but nothing special. Bier brauen (212), Bremerton, Washington, USA
