[330ml bottle, gift from Lee - cheers mate!] I had been planning to have a Rochefort 8 as my 300th beer, but when the time came I fancied something lighter, and after scanning the beers in the cupboard decided that as Innis & Gunn are one of my favourite beer brands, this would be a good one for the 300th. It pours a gingery amber colour, with no head and rather excessive carbonation. The aroma is of vanilla and oaky wood. The taste is of vanilla and cream soda with lots of woodiness and a buttery finish, which means its much smoother than the fizziness would suggest. A slight sour/cough mixture whisky taste comes through afterwards, and you can taste this and the woodiness long after you have finished drinking it. Perhaps not as good as some of their limited editions, but a fine beer nevertheless. Re-rate 20/3/2009: Previous comments stand, but less fizzy and more buttery then I remember; enjoyed it more as a result. Adjusted ratings accordingly.

330mL Bottle. Poured clear medium amber colour with a solid off-white head. Aromas of toffee, toasted malts, sweet fruit and oak. Flavours of creamy caramel/toffee and vanilla,with a good malt base. Finishes balanced and soft on the bitterness. I would have liked to see a bit more emphasis on the oak flavours but overall I was still very impressed by its flavouring. I will defintely be looking for more of this in the future.

330ml clear bottle. Poured a crystal clear dark amber with off white lasting head. Light carbonation. Sweet nut-toffee aroma. Enjoyable whiskey butter-toffee flavour.

Bottle. Amber colored with white head that dimishes rather quickly. Slight bourbon scent. earthy/wood like taste with a little vannila aftertaste

Clear 330ml bottle served in an English pint glass. Light amber body topped by a diminishing head. Tons of sediment floating around, I am guessing it is wood chips. Sweet vanilla wafts up from the glass as well as a good deal of bourbon. Tastes of wood, bourbon, and vanilla. Has a gritty texture from the wood particles. I am not quite sure how to rate this, I thought it tasted good, but it does not taste like beer at all. More like a shot of bourbon mixed into some seltzer water. The base beer does not come through the wood or whiskey at all.

Bottle. Aroma of whiskey and vanilla and English malts. This tasted like an English bitter to me with some rum or whiskey poured in with it. Very bitter sweet palate and hard to drink quickly.

Bottle. Amber body with a light off white body. Lots of vanilla, light fruit, light whiskey, sweet sugar, and light oakiness. Has a vanilla cream soda feel with very light barreling. Sessionable at a price.
