Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Brewed by Belhaven for Innis & Gunn
Ingredients: Golden Promise and crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Clear 330ml bottle served in an English pint glass. Light amber body topped by a diminishing head. Tons of sediment floating around, I am guessing it is wood chips. Sweet vanilla wafts up from the glass as well as a good deal of bourbon. Tastes of wood, bourbon, and vanilla. Has a gritty texture from the wood particles. I am not quite sure how to rate this, I thought it tasted good, but it does not taste like beer at all. More like a shot of bourbon mixed into some seltzer water. The base beer does not come through the wood or whiskey at all.

Bottle. Aroma of whiskey and vanilla and English malts. This tasted like an English bitter to me with some rum or whiskey poured in with it. Very bitter sweet palate and hard to drink quickly.

Bottle. Amber body with a light off white body. Lots of vanilla, light fruit, light whiskey, sweet sugar, and light oakiness. Has a vanilla cream soda feel with very light barreling. Sessionable at a price.

poured clear amber with a small white head. Malty, earthy aroma with a slight odd smell in back...almost skunky?? Smooth but slightly oily on the tongue. Light taste...malt mixed with a toffee-like sweetness and an earthy undertone.

clear glass....do I need a glass? Yeah i guess so. Pours a watery looking light amber. no head. no action. Aroma of a grolsch like lager and oak. Hint of whiskey.Nice smooth oaky flavor but it still reminds me of a german/european lager. The whiskey is very present and surprisingly smooth. Nice smoothness and a light [,lager like] flavor. The ABV will sneak right up on you but this beer, although very easy to drink isn’t a beer I want to keep drinking.

33 cL clear bottle. Pours almost clear and golden yellow to orange with a small yet dense and off-white head. Dry malty and slight grassy hoppy aroma. Flavour is breadish malty, light sweet and with a mild roasted note. Caramelish too. Light bitterness showing through. Bitter and breadish malty in the finish.

White bottle. Light amber color. Butterscotch in the aroma. malty sweetish, buttery , alightly oaky flavor. Hints of citrus. Buttery aftertaste. Sticky mouthfeel. The oak character could be a bit more pronounced.

Bottle, 33cl. Pours an ochre-bronze, with quickly disappearing thin head. Honey, citrus, malt and toffee on the nose, and quite oakey on the palate. Low carbonation, nicely blended alcohol in the mouthfeel, with sour tail. Unusual, but quite decent.
