""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Bottle:Deep golden, small, but stable lacy white head; wood, vanilla and turpentine in the nose; moderate sweetish flavour, medium bodied; vanilla aromas in the sweet-bitter finish. Who needs this.....?

(33cl bottle) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet and slightly oaky, barrique-like nose with peaty accents, notes of alcohol, vanilla and a restrained hops character. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Soft malty base with distinctive notes of vanilla, toffee and slightly peaty, whiskey-like flavours; medium-dry, sweet and faint bitter finish with shy hoppy notes and too much of vanilla and alcoholic accents. It´s like in the wine, I just must not have barrique flavours (05.03.08).

Bottle. Oaky hoppy peanut butter aroma, but not that pleasant. Clear copper color with white head that leaves a bit of lace. Taste is very bitter oak that drowns all else. Like eating lumber. Tastes like this thing is more than 20%, no way just 6.6%. Vile, vile stuff. No way I can drink all this. 240208

Aroma of caramel, vanilla and alcohol. Vanilla in the taste and sweetish malts remind more of whisky than beer. One dimensional but nice and drinkable.

Pours light amber with a small creamy white head. Lots of buttery vanilla in the aroma, with a slight earthy note, and just a bit of sweetness. Semi-sweet flavors with a nice bit of vanilla/oak, some caramel, a bit of a citric undertone, and a very slight note of whiskey. Palate is medium/light, strong vanilla aftertaste, and just a bit of whiskey like burn. Interesting and well balanced, but not great, and certainly way overpriced.

Bottle. Sweet, malts in the aroma and taste. Nice amber colour. Bitter but also tangy in the after taste. It’s refreshing to see honey used properly in brewing, unlike the so called honey lagers all around A little odd, but I like it.

11.2 oz bottle purchased at Oak Tree. Pours a clear reddish amber with an initial large foamy white head. Complex aroma of vanilla, oak, whiskey, earth and then some off notes of butter and sulfur as well. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a full mouthfeel. Flavor is a real let down and the oak simply dominates and is not complimetary. Hardly any beer flavors are present and I thought I was drinking a boilermaker rather then a beer. Well it is Scotish and it is crap.

Huge skunky nose that took some time to blow off. Why do breweries package in clear glass? Aroma is light vanilla with a laffy-taffy like banana. Flavor is a mild whiskey and oak with a drying astringent (but not bad) finish. Fairly one dimensional, but clean, balanced and drinkable.
