""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

330ml bottle. Copper coloured with a decent off-white head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla oak. Flavour was very sweet with a hint of warming alcohol in the finish. Not bad.

RE-RATE: Bottle (330ml). Poured golden orange with a good sized, thick, frothy, white head which was fully lasting. A rich aroma with sweet buttery caramel malts, strong notes of creamy vanilla, oak, tangerines, English style marmalade and some light notes of banana cake. Flavor was a mild hop bitterness with smooth buttery caramel, vanilla oak, creamy toffee, a touch of butterscotch, mandarin, light notes of pears and a nutty/biscuity finish. Very well hidden alcohol. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry/creamy mouthfeel and a good lasting finish.

Decent sized fluffy white head of fine bubbles. Nice continuous carbonation. Strong vanilla and oak aroma with a hint of bourbon. Also some sweet butterscotch. Color is a crystal clear brownish orange. Lively in the mouth with lots of sweet malts. Lots and Lots of butter. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of butter. But this sort of melds with the vanilla and bourbon nicely. Noticable alcohol presence and actually seems stonger than it actually is. Finishes smooth and creamy with a lingering vanilla taste. A decent brew.

Nice in that it is more subtle than most of the oak aged monsters I’ve had. Where those tend to leave a bitter hop/wood combo here we have a more mellow wood effect, not unlike what you’d expect from a smoother bourbon. Some candy sweetness. Overall I think it was just a tad thin and needed just a bit more oomph.

Clear bottle poored a copper fluid with clear body. The tast of vanilla with a hint of honey left me asking for some bitterness. The body was medium and finsih was smooth but sweet taste left me wanted something more acidic or bitter.

Bottle. Quite expensive at almost $4 for a single bottle at the local shop. The beer pours exactly how it looks in the "CLEAR" bottle. A well crafted ale in a clear bottle? Am I the only person that sees a problem with this picture? Let’s save clear bottles for crap like Corona. Anyway, warm amber in color, absolutely flat. No head or fizz. The one complaint I had about this beer is that the smokey oak and vanilla flavors overpower the malty richness as well as the hoppy bite that a good English ale should have. The aroma of the vanilla and oak is amazing being that I am also an avid whiskey fan, but the flavor in this beer was just too much. This beer definitely has a little too thin of a mouthfeel with no real body. The finish is a bit sweet, still very oaky, and a bit alcoholic. A beer worth trying for yourself, but definitely not my cup of tea.

Bottle at Vodroffslund Bodega. Clear orange/amber - white head. Oak, wood, amber-malts, caramel, sweetness, light brown sugar. Nice and soft mouthfeeling.

12 oz bottle...copper with off-white soapy head....aroma---sweet malts and sweet whiskey...smells that make you go hmmmm....creamy body, yet light...flavor--the essence of a whiskey shot left on the palate then chased by a lager or stronger ale...makes me want whiskey (irish)...a slight peatiness to the finish...price is a tad high for quality
