Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Brewed by Belhaven for Innis & Gunn
Ingredients: Golden Promise and crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

330ml bottle A deep amber colour with a long-lasting head; complex aroma with malt and fruit; equally complex flavours - citrus, sweet, bitter; very dry and warming palate with vanilla and oakiness.

Bottle at home. Dark amber with a white head, almost diminishing. Aroma moderate malty (druity, oak) and hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, normal carbonated. Very special and delicate.

Pretty much it has an amber colour with a thick head that goes away in little time. It smells like smoked beef, no shit, like smoked beef. Taste reflects the smell minus the beef... smoky methinks. Has a pretty sweet deep finish. Little bitterness I spotted in this beer. Yeah, this beer is not easy for me to describe, but hell, it is rather good. God damn I would have it again and again and again.

Light copper with disappearing head. Aroma reeks of oak and caramell. Taste goes the the way. Don’t know how to better explain it but this beer reminds me of soil and autumish flavours. Like a forest in october or something. Maybe I’ll be able to put it better if I have this once more.

Bottle. Mid-amber colour, thin white head. Amazing nose, caramely, oaky, sweet, toffee, like a sweet shop, by the fudge counter. Mouth is more of the same, that sweet strong caramel taste, quite bitter and a touch of fruit at the start, pans through nicely into that woody lasting caramel, toffee taste. Hides the alcohol very well. Very carbonated. Clean and easy drinking.

(33cl bottle) Large, frothy, off-white head atop crystal clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, some wood, light caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some vanilla, wood, light earthy, alcohol. Watery, light-medium body.

Not my favourite. Poured with very little head. The oak character can be tasted with a light hint along with strong flavours of toffee, but I didn’t get too much citrus out of it. Medium body and easy enough to drink.

Bottle, Clear copper coloured beer with a thin off-white head. some hops, malt and caramel or toffee? in what is quite a musty aroma. Taste not really my thing, yes the woodiness is present, but taste is quite dry and also a litte too sweet with some malt and bitterness backing up it improves slightly.
