""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Light copper with disappearing head. Aroma reeks of oak and caramell. Taste goes the the way. Don’t know how to better explain it but this beer reminds me of soil and autumish flavours. Like a forest in october or something. Maybe I’ll be able to put it better if I have this once more.

Bottle. Mid-amber colour, thin white head. Amazing nose, caramely, oaky, sweet, toffee, like a sweet shop, by the fudge counter. Mouth is more of the same, that sweet strong caramel taste, quite bitter and a touch of fruit at the start, pans through nicely into that woody lasting caramel, toffee taste. Hides the alcohol very well. Very carbonated. Clean and easy drinking.

(33cl bottle) Large, frothy, off-white head atop crystal clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, some wood, light caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some vanilla, wood, light earthy, alcohol. Watery, light-medium body.

Not my favourite. Poured with very little head. The oak character can be tasted with a light hint along with strong flavours of toffee, but I didn’t get too much citrus out of it. Medium body and easy enough to drink.

Bottle, Clear copper coloured beer with a thin off-white head. some hops, malt and caramel or toffee? in what is quite a musty aroma. Taste not really my thing, yes the woodiness is present, but taste is quite dry and also a litte too sweet with some malt and bitterness backing up it improves slightly.

bottle: Run out of scotch? Like licking oak boards? This beer is for you. I can’t imagine how anybody enjoys this awful taste on its own. When this warms, it is completely undrinkable & tastes like the worse macro ale you have ever had (think Wee Willy with motor oil it)! Drinking this just gave me a headache, so I dumped it down the drain. I love big, bold ales & bitters but they have to taste good (imagine that). This is pretentious crap which won’t be around in 2 years, because all of these cowardly raters who pretend to publicly enjoy it, are privately throwing it down the drain too & not wasting their money any longer. Brutal product. Cheers to the honest reviewers here pointing out its cloying sweetness & astringent taste. I’ll take the worst macro brew pale lager ANY day of this. Blue Light & Budweiser looks brilliant next to this.

Clear bottle, Tesco. Copper with a smallish layer of off-white. Skunk hit this one a bit. Some earthy, breadiness, under that, a bit of minty hops. Some fo the skunk hits the flavor too, a bit distracting. Bright, otherwise clean malt. Surprisingly mild bitterness that fades further as the glass progresses. A bit thin. Not terrible, but the "limited edition" version of this is vastly better.

[Tasted at the bloodparty with the bloody bloodbros.] Lars’ bottle from Inverness/Elgin gave me joy tasting this whisky oak aged brew. Notes of oak and whisky, but it needs complexity to be an ESB. A bottle to be dranked a lot if you can stand the whiskynotes.
