Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Brewed by Belhaven for Innis & Gunn
Ingredients: Golden Promise and crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Bottle 0,33l. Golden brown. A creamy lasting head leaving patterns on the glass. Some burntness in the aroma. A soft sweet flavour. You have a whisky feeling in the aftertaste. No bitterness. More peculiar than good.

(Bottle BB 30/05/07) Whisky-like, toffee-like and roasted malty aroma. Bronze colour, bright, only very slightly sparkling and average size, white, slightly lasting head with fair lacing. Malty, whisky-like sweet flavour. Softly carbonated and light to medium-bodied palate with a hint of alcohol. Rather thin beer even though a slight whisky-like taste is some what interesting. 11/07/06

bottle: Oh my god! What the hell are people talking about? This beer is disgusting!! Has everyone gone mad? Pours an amber/whiskey colour with decent head and carbonation. Smells of oak (surprise) and whiskey. A very strong whiskey aftertaste. Trust me. Anyone who says no aftertaste or weak finnish is clearly mad. It tastes more like a scotch and water than a beer. If you like the taste of this, maybe you prefer scotch to beer (many do). If you like this vile excuse for a beer, save yourself some money and buy a big whopping bottle of Colt 45. It’s about the same quality without the pretentious packaging. Among the worst I have ever tasted.

Bottle. Chocolate/fruit/woody aroma. Pours dark amber with a decent head. Goes down smooth and absolutely no aftertaste. An excellent brew.

Pours a copperish colour with a white head. Taste is smokey with hints of spice, and also a little bit sweet. A good brew!

The second ESB of the evening...This one also looks appetizing, with a clear, copper body and a lush, white head. Intensely smokey and bready aroma, very sweet - even of maple, and definetly woody. The flavor is also quite sweet, with a large dose of maple and smokiness. Smooth and easy to drink.
