""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Despite the mediocre score, this is still one of my favorite beers. Mostly because it is the beer that taught me how to appreciate a good beer. It is an amazing beer considering it’s mass production. Beautiful deep amber colour, rich aroma, and rather complex flavours to boot. Everyone should try it atleast once.

Bottle, 330ml. A clear, dark amber pour with an average lasting head. Strong aromas of oak and hops. Flavour is mostly oak, but with hints of hop and malt. Average duration finish of malt and oak. The taste is certainly unique, although it doesn’t really do much for me. I think it would be nicer with less Oak and more noticable hops and malt.

Bottle. Clear golden colour like apple juice, small diminishing white head with fair lacing. Aroma of malt and citrus. Thin watery body, smooth. Good balanced flavor, medium sweet and very light bitter.

Pours out of the bottle yellow-ish brown with a small cloying head that almost looks sticky. Aroma is sweet, cinamon and honey. It smells like a cinnamon bun. The palate is super complex. Honey, oak, cinnamon, almost a scotch-esque favor in there as well, most definatly a fruitier highland scotch. There are also some soft fruit notes in there as well (possible pear) and a gentile hoppiness. Finnish lingers with an oaky bite. Good, good beer.

Bottle. Poured a amber blonde witha foamy head. Light honey and caramel nose. Slightly creamy mouthful with some sweetness and light hops. Some oak notes and pretty smooth. The barrel aging adds to the mix but the base beer is only decent.

I have never been a big fan of this beer, but I can see why people enjoy it. Pours amber with small amount of white head. Aroma not bad, with some maple syrup notes, but too much alcohol coming through. Taste is overly sweet, with buttery caramel notes, woody with some vanilla notes.

bottle. Pours a nice golden amber color with a small rocky off- white head & pretty lacing. Aroma is definately oak with honey sweetness & citrusy hops. Hints of a smoky highland single malt scotch are detected as well. As the beer warms, all of these aromas are intensified, especially the scotch. Smooth & creamy texture, medium bodied. Flavor starts with the oak ending with a honey sweetness, a bit too much. unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Overall a crazy beer. I’ll have another sometime, would love to try from the cask over in the UK.

Golden with a white and somewhat thin head. Whisky aroma, with pear and smoky notes. Flavor brings whisky as well, together with some smoky toyches. Grassy, malty and with a somewhat spicy finish.
