""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Great beer. Tastes like a hint of Whiskey in it. This is because it is aged in oak barrels. Crisp flavour.

Light and mild with an distinct oaky under-tone and just enough sugar to enhance the flavors. But a beer like this could be a lot richer, it feels a bit thin.

330 ml bottle. Dated 08 Jan 09. Dark copper amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is lightly malt, much like Newcastle Brown. Medium body. Slightly sweet. Rather oaky. Mild, lightly spicey hop. Bitter builds with time. Leaves a tingle behind. Seems a bit of malt whisky notes. Pretty good.

Deep amber with dissipating head, some lacing. Palate a bit too soda-like. Super buttery with strong hints of smoke and honey. Very malty (caramel) nose. None too subtle, but its uniqueness definitely won me over. Not an everyday beer by any stretch, but a tasty diversion. Also, it masks the alcohol brilliantly.

Bottle from the <a href=http://www.lcbo.com target=blank>LCBO in Peterborough. Clear bronze in colour, thin dissipating white head, small bubbles. The aroma was of caramel, wood, butterscotch, boozy. The flavour was smoky, butterscotch and light toffee, some minor alcohol, slightly sweet. Creamy mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes slightly sweet with toffee, lingering.

bottle. bright, shiny copper body with a medium off-white soapy head. aroma starts out nicely with smoked malt, earth, and burnt caramel. I like this, warm body without too much apparent alcohol, soft carbonation, and sweet malts. There is also a bit of smokiness and burnt toast flavours. some areas felt a little bit thin and watery. unique for the style. nice bottle too.

Bottled. Charneol colour. Sweetish whiskey nose, with notes of honey. Clear whiskey tone in flavour, as well as caramel. Elegant body, I did not find it too light. Finishes with honey and somewhat woody.

Bottled, 330ml, pasteurised. Burnt orange with little lasting head. Strangely I had a light deposit with mine when I poured it. Mellow, smooth flavours synonimous with aged beers, though sweeter than most. There are woody, vanilla notes to the fore with a touch of whisky about it. Malty in a warming way, maybe a little cloying, but a decent enough beer.
