Bottle, bought @ Bierzerg.de
Pours deep coppery amber with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has dry oak, caramel, sugar, vanilla, some floral notes. Medium to low carbonation, fat and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, fat caramel, light oak, some mild dryness, sugary. Kinda dry oaky finish. Fine, light warming finish.

2011 vintage, kept a half year old. Way too smooth. Easy drinking but very uninteresting. Rum and slightly hazy coloured body, a little creamy lace.

341ml bottle pours amber in color with a finger of white head that settles quickly leaveing only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and whiskey with hints of oak and vanilla. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with hints of whiskey and oak and an earthy hoppy bitter finish. Medium body and light carbonation. Overall, a pleasing ale but could use a bit more hops to better manage the malty sweetness.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2011 In bottle; great beer ... notes of vanilla and toffee. Nice body to it ... much better than I expected it to be (wish it was available all year)

Brilliantly clear! Aroma has complex malt with subtle oak and bourbon aromas there as well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with plenty of the oak flavour coming through. Finishes slightly sweet, certainly malt forward.

sulawang (408) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 8, 2011
higher ABV than the previous year, pours auburn - lighter in colour, small head, micro CO2, ringed retention, sticky lacing. Muted malted toffee nose. Strong walloping deep malted 7/10 sweet toffee and caramel up front intermixed with an alcoholic punch, a bit of vanilla and spice in the mid, very minor bitter and long malted finish. Medium-high depth, Medium complexity, med-full body, medium length. You get the flavour after 5 or so sips so nothing mind-blowing. Solid and appreciable.

341ml bottle 2011 vintage. Pours clear amber/red with a small off white head. Aroma is somewhat malty wit h caramel, roasted malt and a hint of vanilla and whiskey. Flavour is somewhat sweet, with moderate bitterness, roasted malt, and vanilla. Overall I enjoyed this. Pretty good.

Colour: Ruby red, with decent size but quickly evaporating head. Nose: Swirls of butterscotch, light hop, touch of fennel. Oak is distant but noticable and so soft on the nose. Taste: Medium-high sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. A sweet-bomber...but with gentle ease and lots of other players. More herb, this time rosemary. The butterscoth returns and infuses itself with the oak to produce the softest wood-laced magic and it ripens even more through the finish. Stunning stuff.

Bottled, thanks fiulijn! Hazy amber, small head. Buttery whisky aroma. Medium-full body, soft and caramelly. Mellow whisky and fudge. low bitterness. One of the better editions of Innis & Gunn.
