Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. Pours clear copper with a tight, creamy tan head. The aroma holds light peat, some toasted toffee, hints of tangy berries. Big sweet flavor, lots of toffee, toasted sugars, bread, mild peat, overripe berries, golden raisins, touches of vanilla, a bit of honey-cured ham. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sticky sweet finish, lots more honey-cured ham, toffee, toasty sugars, berries, overripe fruits, hints of maple syrup. Interesting stuff. A bit cloying at points but not bad overall.

2011-10-23. Crisp dark amber orange body with a small beige head that fades. 3+ Flavour is fairly sweet malty profile, light bitterness and hops, creamy sort of vanilla like character that I assume is from the oak. The wood is muted otherwise and not overpowering like some of their other offerings. Hints of citrus in the finish, maybe? 6+ Light alcohol notes in the aroma, mild oak and vanilla, caramel. Decent but not entirely to my tastes. Bottle from LCBO

Caramel golden brown pour with a lot of white frothy head. Head lasts. Initial scent is very boozy, so much so that I checked the percentage on it (higher then I knew), The boozieness is in the mouth as well. I guess I&G thinks everyone wants to get hammered for Canada Day. Some sweet hops in there with a really nice finish that’s just slightly nutty. Of all of the I&G I have tried this is, thus far, my favorite.
