We are pleased to present this special Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer bottled to celebrate Canada Day 2012.
Alongside ale malt we added Aromatic Barley Malt with imparts the beer’s rich toffee colour and satisfying maltiness. We used Goldings hops from 3 farms in East Kent to impart a delicate balancing bitterness and a fruity twist. We then slowly oak matured the beer to unlock the delicious flavours of vanilla and toffee locked inside the oak grain, only bottling it when we deemed it to have matured to perfection.

Clear dark amber beer, good cream coloured head. Light palate, crispy and a little dry. A little creamy malt with a toffee streak. A light touch of spice and some bubblegum ester buried underneath. Dried fruits and a trace of vanilla oak. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Well joined up and tasty. The only minus point is a little paper.

Nice amber color with copper hue; medium sized compact head. Light aroma of caramel. Medium body, pleasant but simple toffee flavor, some toasted notes, some sweet wood, oak; the bitterness is quite low.
As many other Innis & Gunn beers, not bad, but inoffensive.

LCBO Bottle. Big soapy head. Malt aromas. Ruby highlights. Decent drinkability despite slightly light mouthfeel, with a little astringency from the wood. The wood aroma and taste comes out better at room temp. A little hops in the finish

Pale amber pour with a tight white head. The aroma is a little bit toasty and slightly vanilaish. A soft sort of sweetness. Lightly malty with a touch of soft sweetness. Toffee and a little bit of spicy UKish hoppiness. It’s a little bit fruity as well with a bit of apple and pear as well. Okay - if quite similar to many of the other I&G stuff I’ve had.
