3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JoeMcPhee (7623) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, - JUL 5, 2012Pale amber pour with a tight white head. The aroma is a little bit toasty and slightly vanilaish. A soft sort of sweetness. Lightly malty with a touch of soft sweetness. Toffee and a little bit of spicy UKish hoppiness. It’s a little bit fruity as well with a bit of apple and pear as well. Okay - if quite similar to many of the other I&G stuff I’ve had.

(From Beers of Europe) Deep amber, small off-white head. Vanilla, oak and toffee. Definitely Innis & Gunn then! As with all their beers it may be too sweet for some but I think it’s full of flavour and a great laid back mellow late night beer.

330ml bottle from Warners at the Bay Bottle Shop. Strong spiced fruit aroma fills the nose. Dark brown in colour with a head that settles quickly to eave a few scattered bubbles. Full in the mouth with a rum like finish. Smooth and there is a big alcohol hit in the mouth.

22nd July 2012 Clear dark amber beer, good cream coloured head. Light palate, crispy and a little dry. A little creamy malt with a toffee streak. A light touch of spice and some bubblegum ester buried underneath. Dried fruits and a trace of vanilla oak. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Well joined up and tasty. The only minus point is a little paper.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 neuromatt (858) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 23, 2013
341 mL bottle at Jess’ cottage, served in a stem glass. Pours clear reddish-amber with virtually no head. The nose has lots of brown sugar and English malts, along with oak, Goldings and a slight amount of earth. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout with brown sugar, molasses, oak and subtle hops. The finish is long, smooth and woody. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice malty Scottish ale with smooth oaky notes. 2012-08-25
