3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheJester (1268) - Peterborough, - JUN 9, 2011
330 mL bottle. Copper, with a ring of head. Less sweet coconut & oak than most of their offerings, but this isn’t a bad thing, as it allows some brown sugar and a little fruit to come through. Still on the sweet side, though. The flavour is a little more subtle as well, and there is more going on than in their other, one-dimensional offerings. The oak is there, along with booze, some earthy hops, some caramel, and graham crackers. Body is still a little thin, but it’s actually a nice sipper.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DeliriumT (139) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAY 18, 2012
This is a review of the 2011 edition of Canada day. The beer pours cloudy dark coppery colour with no head (as is the innis & gunn tradition). It smells vanilla with a hint of berries. The flavour is so complex I don’t know where to begin. The first detectable flavour is vanilla. Other obvious flavours are berries, plums and rum. Impressive stuff
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 17, 2012
Purchased at the LCBO in a single box. Pours an amber colour with little transparent flakies floating around. Off-white head that stays a while and minimal lacing. A nice nose of fruits over caramel and butterscotch. No alcohol felt for a 8.3% ABV brew with no burning. Quite smooth and almost creamy-oily. Again, the caramel is in the taste with fruit, like raisins. I do not sense the bourbon barrels influence. Very easy to drink and nicely blended between the sweet sugars and the tasty fruits.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DerWeg (1271) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 25, 2012
Deep clear coppery color with fine bubbles and creamy cap. Aroma for miles, sweet and smooth complex caramelly malts and sweet meadow. Taste caramel and raisin and fruit and a bit of lemon citrus, a bit of vanilla - very heavy sweet finish but they packed in some serious flavor.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ferfie (253) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 4, 2012
Pours an orangey brown with slight red hues. Crystal clear with a egg shell head that sticks around.
Smell is alcohol, wood, sweet malts, toffee, burnt sugar.
Taste is sweet malt, oak, alcohol-flavour without the burn. finish is dark fruits, figs, apples that have been over ripened but not rotten, dark fruit, alcohol, light spicy finish.
Nice mouth feel, medium/full bodied, slick, medium carbonation. Greatest I&G in my books.
most importantly no buttery off-ness.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jessop (136) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 28, 2012
Bottled poured with hardly any head to speak of. The Aroma sports notes of rich caramel, vanilla, oaky wood and malt. The flavour profile shows well rounded malts and bourbon, vanilla sweetness, its nutty and delectable.
