3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 larsga (4684) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 20, 2009
Medium offwhite head. Perfect amber body. Earthy floral vanilla aroma, very subtle and harmonic. Dryish-sweetish roasty chocolatey earthy fruity taste with dusty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, rounded mouthfeel. Dry salty floral earthy aftertaste with chocolate notes. Vanilla notes linger. Nice! (Taster at Dr. Jekyll’s, Oslo.)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sammy (6129) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 19, 2009
A buttery mouthfeel to this medium yellow bodied beer, with dissipitating head, and a bit of a lace trail. Malt and a little whiskey barrel aroma. Smooth drinker, that leaves woody aftertaste.Somewhat more drinkable than their usual line, though not the best I have enjoyed for them.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 alexchafe (29) - , Newfoundland, CANADA - JUL 18, 2009
pours up with a foamy white head that dissipates pretty quick leaving a film of foam. aroma hits you with oak right away, beyond this is toffee, and a hint of sweetness. it’s flavour is great. just enough oak with a load of toffee and dark fruits. on the backend there’s some slight bitterness mixed with a citrus-appley sweetness. Palate is slightly lacking, almost overly smooth, i think. certainly worth the $5!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Eructoblaster (2122) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 16, 2009
Bottle - 330ml. Limpid amber body with heavy carbonation and an average off-white frothy head. Enjoyable malth/hoppy aroma with oaky and caramel hints. Taste is well balanced and carries whisky, oaky and plummy notes. Ends with a decent, warming bittersweet finish. Pretty decent Strong Ale.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 15, 2009
2009-06-28. Dark amber body with a modest beige head. (3+) Aroma shows a good amount of wood, light boozy alcohol, a touch of rye character that I may or may not have identified if I did not already know what it was. Flavour is similar, with a malty flavour in the base, light rye touches, and a decent amount of wood over top. Average palate suits the beer. A bit more wood than I personally care for but its decent, perhaps the best of their stuff. Bottle shared by Tuqueboy
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cirrhosis (932) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 14, 2009
"Special addition brewed for Just for us Canadians for Canada day, I drank mine about a month to early. Beer appears to be clear reddish brown with just a this film floating on top. Aroma is not that great but it’s not gross either, butter, oak, and alcohol with some biscuity malts. Buttery oak flavour with a mild hop finish. The alcohol is a little to noticeable for this low percentage. Beer feel medium to full bodied and is dominated by the oak flavour. Not a good beer but not disgusting and disgusting is what I’ve grown to expect from Innis & Gunn, so me saying I’m not repulsed by the beer is a bit of an complement."
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Elkas (213) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 13, 2009
330ml bottle from the LCBO. I purchased it in early June, but since the lable said it was brewed in honor of Canada Day 2009, I waited for the big day to open it. Poured a nice red with a white head that looked very Canadian for the 45 seconds that it lasted. It has nice vanilla and oak flavours, and even a slightly bitter finish. Thanks for making this for us!

Brownish amber colour with beige head. Aroma is sweet malt with a slight earthy hint. Flavour is rich with a noticeable touch of oak acidity and caramel. Nice body.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Radek Kliber (5308) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - JUL 11, 2009
Boxed clear bottle 330 ml from LCBO
Appearance: clear deep brown amber look with fine mid plus off tanned top. Quiet handsome. Nose: Neat and balanced aroma. Sweet malts , hint of peppery hops , warmth of alcohol on casky feel. Faint touch of oak with leafy sides. 8- Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied. Cask character more apparent here. Solid malty base even bit sticky. Good noticeable feel of alcohol. Cask character here is presented with supporting role. Nutty finish. Good balance but this strong ale is lacking bit of depth. Still recommended solid brew.
