5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 RigorMortis (24) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 21, 2009
Best. Beer. Ever. I realize I may have said that while rating Koenigshoeven Quadruppel, but this is better. Has a deeper and more complex flavor than regular Innis & Gunn, which I already adore. Time to buy some more bottles.

I bought a ton of these beers - one at a time. Each time it was better. Must be the aging (humor) The whiskey, nutty vanilla, oak, and alcohol notes dance in perfect harmony. This beer is fantastic. I’ve enjoyed just about everything I’ve had with the innis and gunn name and this is just about the best.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 bulldogops (311) - Alberta, CANADA - JUL 13, 2010
330mL Bottle from the LCBO. 7.1% I have been waiting on this all week. Dark crimson pour with a bubbly tan foam that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is bold, capturing a fruity note of dried grapes, mild citrus, and a whiff of Crown Royal (Canadian Rye whiskey). Lightly carbonated. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium-full bodied, this packs a punch. Strong alcohol character balanced by the gentle bitterness of the citrusy hops. Hint of toffee and oakiness in the finish similar to other I&G brews. Absolutely superb.

330ml bottle. 2009 edition. Red/copper colour. Good crispness and a delicious taste of rye whisky. A very good beer. Shame about it being a limited edition.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 guil0000 (176) - New Brunswick, CANADA - NOV 8, 2010
Pours a red copper color with a a darkish white head. Nose is caramel, Dark fruit and scotch with definite notes of oak. Flavor is malty with a little orange notes. Mouth feel is kind of light but with very strong flavors. I really liked it. Would buy more if it wasn’t so expensive.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Savvy1982 (1453) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 22, 2009
Pours a gorgeous blood-orange red, with a moderate, but sticky head. Immediate impression is of maple, with a nice dried-fruit and spice character. The rye sourness is present on the nose also but really hits you on the palate. The rye gives this beer an extremely pleasant initial sharpness and moves into the classic oaky-sweet Innis & Gunn - style palate. There is more fruitiness with this beer than I have found with other Innis & Gunn offerings, with a very nice, long, sour, finish. I am surprised with this as, after the Rum Cask I was fully expecting to be disappointed by this beer. Good Stuff!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 beelsebob (23) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAY 4, 2010
A pleasant drink, but ultimately no more interesting than the normal Innis & Gunn.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hobbersr (690) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 21, 2009
Pours a really nice coppery red with a decent sized white head. Smells like maple (weird, no indication that maple was used). Dried fruit, oak, rye, biscuit malt, dark fruit, maple and spice on the nose. The beer bites you right away on the palate. Rye whiskey comes our first and then moves to a fruity (apple), sweeter mid-palate. Biscuit malt, dark fruit, and a pleasant, slightly sour finish. Nice carbonation. Surprisingly good.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cole (925) - , Alberta, CANADA - JUN 22, 2009
Pours reddish amber, nice lacing. Aroma of maple, dark malts, rye, and a lot of oak. Very alcoholic. Flavour is strong and slightly sweet. Lots of malt and oak on the palate, and slightly fruity. The rye really comes through in the finish. Very intense.
