COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made exclusively for Canada, matured in Canadian whisky oak imported to Scotland. Full bodied and rounded in all the right places with toffee notes from the rye balanced by a soft oak character.

A pleasant drink, but ultimately no more interesting than the normal Innis & Gunn.

Drank at the Newtown Brewfest. A brew with a rye, bread and maple flavor. There was a mild wood and toffee taste. It was ok for me.

sulawang (222) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 1, 2011
pours ruby red, small head gone in 30 seconds, minimal lacing. A bit of malts on the nose. On the palate, burst of raisiny 6/10 sweetness, some orange in there, mild bitter hops in the background, and a bit of toffee. Minor spices at the start and finishes semi-dry and again with the toffee. Excellent balance, medium complexity, short-medium length, medium depth. A balanced malty beer consisting of sweet raisin/orange fruits, malts, a bit of toffee, and minor spice.

330mL bottle poured a light brown color with a slightly off-white head and some fine lacing. Aromas of whiskey and caramel. Taste is mild whiskey with some caramel sweetness and a dry hoppy finish. This is a fine beer with nice carbonation and a medium body.

330ml bottle. 2009 edition. Red/copper colour. Good crispness and a delicious taste of rye whisky. A very good beer. Shame about it being a limited edition.

330mL bottle, pours golden orange with a white head. Aroma of oak, stale malts, and maple syrup. Flavour is very oaky, vanilla and some syrup. Decent, and better than the main Innis & Gunn concoction.

Bottle. Pours orange/brown. Aroma of cherry, raspberry, syrup and malt. Flavour the same. Quite thin, fruity and slightly dry. Not a lot else to say.

Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 16, 2011
Originally rated November 2009. A very nice salute to Canadians for Canada Day 2009, limited to a 150 Canadian whisky barrels. Comes in a single red box and is matured for 71 days prior to its release (best before December 2010). Sampled in the I&G glass. Pours a clear copper colour with a beautiful slight off-white creamy head that stays a while leaving some nice thick lacing. Carbonation is pretty active with tiny bubbles. Pleasant aromas of toffee, burnt malt, plums and raisins. Kind of unpleasant at first sip, but you get use to it. Buttery taste with the rye oak (and that wax that I have a hard time with in other beers). Not as bad here though. Maybe a bit more hoppy than their Traditional one which takes away some of the toffee flavours. Quite interesting overall and glad they have recognize that Canada loves Innis & Gunn products.

Clear amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma is malt and skunk with some Scotch notes. The skunk kind of kills this one, and it was incredibly thin for an oak aged 7.1% beer.

(Rating #3474)
