Bottle share at the Syb Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Small snifter. Golden-brown pour with light head. Mostly clear. Aroma of oak cask, booze, toffee, malts, and leather. Taste similar. Booze flavor isn’t as strong as the aroma. Toffee, leather, malted barley, oak, must. Smooth mouth. Malty finish. Very nice.

Pours a clear, rich, bourbon golden color with a short beige head. I hate when a pretend know it all about beer (at World of Beer) server pours my beer out of the bottle for me without asking. Aromas of toasty malt, sweet fruit, and hints of sassafras. Smooth, mellow, moderately thick mouthfeel. Mildly scrubby. Oaky vanilla up front. Sweet fruit, but not too sweet. Toasted malt adds to the lingering, yet mild sweetness. Very good beer.

Too sweet, like soda sweet. Dark amber appearance, aroma is sweet. I’m a bit disappointed by the body, expected more body with mellow oak overtones. Not an overwhelming flavor when drinking with a sweet oak finish.

Thanks to Scopey for excavating this one for me, cheers Paul! Cloudy brown beer, good pale cream coloured head. Oxidised caramel malt nose. Oxidisation on the palate as well but some vigorous agitation got rid of the worst of it. What’s left is smooth creamy malt, lactose and a little caramel. Soft milky vanilla oak and sherry. Trace of dried fruits. Smooth finish. Usual I&G huge oak - can’t help but like them!

Enjoyed in the lovely Whiski bar in Edinburgh, only served in half-pints due to the percentage. Most enjoyable, not too strong a taste for a 7% beer. Actually quite light for a dark beer. Loved it.

330ml bottle. Deep copper color. Medium size off-white head appears. Intensive malts, oak in aroma. Notable roasted malts, oak, whiskey in flavor. Tar like mild bitterness. Feels kind of unnatural.

OK. Hade väntta mig en lite mer spännande öl. Inte så mycket "toner" i vare sig arom eller smak. Borde varit mer humlerik.

rbesg07, first beer of the day. dull amber coloured with minimal head; simpl vanilla and caramel aroma; some honeyish sweetness but nasty bandaids in the finish

Bottle poured into what looked like an oversized champagne flute. A truly different beer than I’ve.tried. strong strong smells of vanilla and oak. Tastes like vanilla, toffee, caramel and wood. Went down real easy. Would definitely order again.

Thanks to PaulUnwin for the share. Pours a clear amber-orange with a small off-white head. Nose is big oak, vanilla, wood, slight peat, a hint of smoke and lots of malt throughout. Flavor is similar with oak, wood, vanilla, big malt, slight peat, and small smoke throughout. Light to medium in body and enjoyable overall.
