This Ale poured a clear amber colour with a minimal head, even after a vigourous pour. Scents include wine, oak, whiskey and toast. first sip was smooth and had a creamy mouthfeel with light flavours of whiskey and barrel along with a nice caramel aftertaste. Palate is lightly boozey with whiskey flavours lingering.

Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweet toffee malts, low bitterness, and mild sweet whiskey notes. Decent.

Tallahassee, Fl. - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 1 pt 6.3 fl oz bottle in a fancy limited edition box (earns a 5 for appearance) - slightly sparkling, dark copper pour, quickly diminishing thin off-white head. Aroma is pleasant with some light Scotch accents, a touch of anise seed. Smooth flavor, some toffee, warming nuttiness, a touch of Scotch, some anise seed sweetness. Smooth as velvet mouthfeel. Whisky sits just right, a light whisper in the background.

This is my favorite I’ve tried from Innis and Gunn. More subtle in its toffe and caramel undertones. Love the cask taste coming throught.

Bottle at home. Characteristic toffee, caramel, vanilla, not too sweet, let down by not having much whisky flavour coming through.

Not a world beater, but a decent beer. I actully enjoyed everything but the nose, which was slightly skunked. The sweet & peaty whiskey flavor was nice. Still light- medium bodied at 7%. Not too complex, but pretty good."

Old Review. Brown pour with a creamy tan head. Aroma is woody, oak, caramel, some scotch. Taste is mostly malts, the scotch is present. A bit dull overall.

Bought this from Systembolaget when it was available. I have a hard time with the butterscotch which i think is dominating these beers, there’s also problems with all the ’special-editions’ which in my opinion are all pretty much alike. With that said. Roasted malt and butterscotch caramel with some sweetness.

Bottle. Pours dark brown caramel, with a big creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts and caramel, as well as bread, oak and whiffs of whisky. Full body with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts, grain, oak and peat, and a too sweet finish.
