Thanks to Rogueone for sharing a bottle. The beer is a clear dark amber color with a thin off-white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is malt, oak and caramel. Medium body with flavors of sweet caramel, oak and bready malt. Slight hops in the background. The finish is clean with a short oaky aftertaste. Decent overall.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 wheresthepath (1285) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 3, 2012
[Bottle from Beers of Europe] Chestnut with a large beige head. Rich and oaky throughout, with butter and vanilla in spades. Some toffee, a little red wine, but mainly the oak. It may be a little sweet and sticky for some, but I do like these beers, even if their special editions such as this are simply minor variations on their standard theme. Good stuff.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 QuezXLV (372) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 30, 2012
Aroma is a nice malty scent but not too much oak barrel. The oak in the flavor is subtle but very nice. Bubbly on the palate. Bitter but short aftertaste.

Bottled. Poured medium amber with a nice off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet vanilla, caramel, and buttered toffee with fresh green apple and earthy accents.. sweet overall. The flavor found sweet caramel, vanilla, and a little maple at the core.. dry oak throughout.. finished with caramel, vanilla, and lesser bourbon sweetness plus a little tangy pepper. Medium-bodied and quite sweet on the palate.. ok flow to it.. higher carbonation.. decent brew.

(bottle). A nice surprise from Todd to wind down the summer. Aroma and flavors similar to original but dialed down a bit for the summer season and mellowed by oak aging The mIld but rich and sweet malts make this one tough to session over the long-haul.

Bottle. Brown pour with tan head. Vanilla, and fruit and berry like sweet aroma. Finish is mellow with light wood and sweetness. Flavor is complex but not overbearing, sweet and full of malt.

Bottle pour into tulip. Big, fine, persistent head. Aroma: vanilla and whiskey. Taste: candied fruit, vanilla; sweet oak on the aftertaste. Very interesting, but I am glad I didn’t buy a six-pack.
