330ml bottle - Thanks Chris! Deep port red in colour with a thick pale buff head. Strong malt aroma with fragrant vanilla pod long on the nose. Thin oily mouthfeel and no lacing. Dark malts give a rich maltloaf base with syrupy raisin fruit, black cherry, vanilla and a hint of nutmeg. There is a slight dry earthy note to the hop resins but this fades fast in the short aftertaste. Finish is malty with a mild boozy warmth of Whiskey - but not as evident as the Rum cask in flavour though. Sweet notes of liquorice and marzipan follow through in the malty backbone with smooth vanilla always present in the palate. The 7.4% is very well hidden in this excellent stout and is so easy to down it quickly. Highly recommended and my second favourite to the Treacle Porter.

Pours out of the bottle like a cola. Thin burnt sugar cap, ruby highlights when raised to the light. A brisk stout: more carbonation than expected, a sweet dimension & a ever so slight twang of the whiskey barrel. Milder than expected --almost watery -- especially with the 7.4% & barrel aging.

Pour is black in color with a nice tan head aroma is larger and malts. A nice medium body beer that has great whiskey flavors. Stays on the plate to enjoy longer.

Smooth and nice, with a hint of fruits, whisky. Very good stout better tasting of whisky, the alcohol does not dominate the beer.

Like many cask aged beers, it has notes of molasses, black cherry, vanilla, and of course wood aging. Not as overtly whiskey flavored as the rum cask is rum flavored, although I think the starting product is more rum oriented in any case. Dark brown cola like appearance. Taste of bitter vanilla and chocolate, a touch of whiskey, but mainly toasted malts. Kind of thin but very smooth. My favorite of the new series I & G casked ales.

Pint glass. Dark brown with half finger tan head. Smells like whiskey, vanilla, and brown sugar. Tastes of whiskey, cherries, chocolate, vanilla, and oak. The palate is a bit thin for me, but overall, it's ok, I would try it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at World of Beer, Fort Myers. Poured a dark brown color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was some chocolate and toasted malts, some oak notes, and a bit of booze. Flavor was roasted, toasted notes, smooth whiskey character comes out. First sip was actually all that pleasant, but subsequent sips were quite enjoyable. Creamy, enjoyable.

Bottle, and on the Label: Whiskey Finish: Dark red colour, with a big head. Aroma is dominated of bread, wet wood, caramelly, vanilla, some citrus to. Flavor had a woody, whisky, vanilla mouth feeling, and it dominates all the way, medium body, some woody ending, this was a surpice and it was nice!
