Appearance: Clear dark brown/ruby with light ruby highlights and a finger thick tan head. Aroma: Smoky, wood, treacle/toffee, banana, bubblegum, hint of peat and vanilla. Taste: Medium bitterness, low/medium sweet and sourness. Palate: Thin smooth texture, light body, low/average carbonation, lingering finish initially banana, bubblegum and toffee, vanilla, followed by a bitter burnt caramel, burnt malt. Very subtle tongue tingling alcohol warmth. Comments: Tasty and slight glass ring lace.

Bottle from Tesco. Black beer with medium head. Aroma of roasted malts, wood and some Whisky notes. Taste is vanilla, oak, whisky hints and some roasted malts. OK stuff, but not quite balanced.

zacgillbanks (3102) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2014
Bottle from Royal Mile Whiskies, Edinburgh. This is a black-red beer with a vanilla and whisky flavour, spicy red fruity and chocolate notes and a warming, rich red fruity finish.

330ml bottle from Appellation Wines, Dalry. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate, prunes in alcohol, light whisky note. Taste has a slightly sweet finish, but is surprisingly good. One of their best.

Martin243 (881) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2014
330 ml bottle served cool in a 1/2pint chalice at home. Dark as pitch with a fast dissipating beige head. A whisper of Irish whiskey in the aroma. Vanilla and black treacle flavour. Lack of fruit, smoke, or coffee bitterness to expand the experience leaves me with the impression of a one-dimensional stout based on creamy flavour that is texturally watery. Inoffensive and disappointing.

Mørk brun/svart med offwhite medium skum. Lukt av Whisky, karamell, kaffe, malt og vanilje. Smaker røkt, sjokolade og vanilje. Fyldig, medium bitterhet og kullsyre - kort tørr ettersmak.

Pours a cola colour with soapy head, softly dies down. Rich sweet aroma, cherries and berries. Taste is a little disappointing. Tastes a little under developed. Very smooth on the palate, silky. No sense of alcohol at all.

good combination of malts and hops with little bubbliness and caramel notes with toast and leather nuances polished off with whiskey , dark deep and rich tasting with smoke finish

Malrider69 (90) - Central Coast, AUSTRALIA - JAN 7, 2014
Probably the worst stout I have tasted. Poor head retention, looks like cola and also tastes like (probably not helped by the clear bottle). The saving grace is that it has a pleasant aroma and there is the definite aroma and taste of Irish whiskey.

Enjoyit (3583) - Vadum, DENMARK - JAN 5, 2014
Black of color with a beige head. An aroma of coffee, plastic, bitter liqurice, prunes and coal. A flavor of roasted malt, liqurice, weak sweets, spice, alcohol, oak and weak hints of whiskey.
