Perfect 5. I canít take a point off for anything. I might be able to in future tastings but this is by far my favorite beer ever.

Thanks for the share, Harold! Nose is oak, whiskey, vanilla, some light roast, turbinado sugar, and some coffee. Pour is light brown/garnet colored with not much for a head. Taste is similar with light sugary sweetness, oak and whiskey, some toffee, molasses, and roast. Not bad at all.

It's dark with a very alcohol content kick. The malts are very strong, not much hops. Has a sharp astringent at the end that hold its back. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 This brew was very good overall. The pour was a brilliant ruby with a thin, frothy head. It smelled like vanilla, oak, whiskey, honey and caramel candies. The taste was of whiskey as well, but with mellow toffee and bitter-dank hops towards the finish. I want more of this!!!

Somewhat muted, simple roast and nut aroma -- nice, but I expected a little more complexity. Good bottle, albeit clear. Dark ruddy brown, creamy tan head. Roast, simple sugary sweetness, tannic, coffeish. Lightish body, effervescent. A little rough edge here and there. ABC, Betton.

Bottle. Pours cherry red with a medium light-tan head. Canít smell much (I rarely can, though). Taste is lightly roasted malts, toffee, oak and whiskey. Canít find the whiskey in the aroma, but itís there in the aftertaste. Body is really thin...not watery but far from full. Iíd be hard pressed to call this a stout, but itís better than I remember...perhaps a year (or so) on my shelf has improved it? Not bad, but not really very stout-like.

Sample at a tasting at Systembolaget, February 2013. Dark brown with a small head. Sweet aroma of toffee, some whisky and malt. The taste was better than expected. Whisky, toffee, butter and light roasted malt. Rather mild. Drinkable but not that exciting.

Comes out of the tap a deep coffee brown with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled light tan head. Aroma is not strong, but has inviting roast malt, caramel and licorice notes, as well as a hint of whisky-soaked wood. Satisfying flavor has a core of roast malt and notes of caramel, licorice, horehound and whisky, slightly but not cloyingly sweet. Smooth, robust texture has some good fizz and leaves a pleasing malty, syrupy finish. Special indeed - especially because I love stouts and barrel-aged beers that sop up whisky (or whatever) and woody flavors!

Flavours of chocolate. Vanilla aroma. Slightly sweet. Smooth, but not great mouth feel

Deep brown, lasting tan head.Light malt & roast nose and palate. Easy drinking and mellow. Their best product by far, but lacking in roast for style
