2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma of slight funk, herb, and Belgian chocolate. Pours black with an ugly sticky white head. Tastes weak with a sour whisky funk. Floral, wood, and funk shine through. Neat beer but the whisky leaves a sour taste I haven?t had since a tequila casked beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark brown pour with a fluffy beige head. Good lace. Aroma was light whiskey and wood, a decent roasted malt presence too. Flavors were lightly sweet, hints of booze, some roast, rather subtle all around. Left a lingering whiskey flavors on the palate along with some sweet malt but this remained quite drinkable. Mouthfeel was smooth and slick, carbonation was light to medium. Not too shabby.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Paula. Pours dark brown with a creamy/fizzy tan head. Aroma starts chocolate. Near full bodied. Flavor is chocolate cream with some oaky irish whiskey notes. The heat is a bit forward, but not all that obnoxious. The irish subtlety is good in the finish. Nice stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of caramel with a slight whiskey hint. Taste caramel, toffee and chocolate with a considerable alcohol finish. Fairly thin body. Not a standard stout but a good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is sweet, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, light whiff of whiskey. The appearance is deep brown/black, reddish hue, light tan head. The flavor is caramel/brown sugar, some chocolate, not much whiskey, but some oak. The finish is sweet, ligth whiskey burn. Thin/medium to medium in body, odd for style. The whiskey does not overpower here, in fact, it may be somewaht lacking. Interesting enough stout. Not bad at all.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Noticeable Irish whiskey aroma. Black with a light half inch tan head. Has that whiskey warming mouth feel to it. Finishes clean. Mild vanilla taste with a faint fruit taste also. Iím really liking this one. Very drinkable and enjoyable. I wish I had got more than one bottle.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
[330ml bottle, Cornelius Beer&Wine, Edinburgh] Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of caramel and chocolate malt. Sweet malty flavour, toffee and molasses. Not really much whisk(e)y in evidence - which is probably a good thing. Warming alcohol burn on the finish. Doesnít have the overpowering sickly aftertaste of the other I&G beers, which makes the whole thing actually quite nice

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours opaque black with an attractive beige head. The nose has brown sugar and toffee cream. The taste is vanilla ice cream and toffee. The palate is medium to large in structure, there is a tangy texture and a reasonably clean finish (if just a little too alcoholic). Overall, this might be their best so far.
