Some oak aroma and taste. Clear dark red amber color. Pretty bland with little Irish Whiskey taste. Clear bottle tells me that they care more about marketing than beer quality.

Pour as part of a pairing at Vetri. Pours a cleanish amber with nice beige head and lace. Nose of oak, whiskey, vanilla, caramel and roasted malt. Medium body with a lot of whiskey barrel notes.

On tap @ Celtic Knot. 7.4%. Beautiful dark brown pour with a fairly weak tan head with mild lacing. Aroma is a hint of espresso in the roast malts, caramel, toffee. Warmth of the alcohol present but balanced by the sharp bitterness of the stout and the caramelly, whisky tones that permeate this black gem. Superb.

bottle. Deep brown with small head. Lots of flavor between the chocolate malt in the stout and the irish whiskey. A little woody smoke as well. Decent.

From the 330 ml. clear bottle. Most of the time I do not care for clear bottles but the Innis & Gunn series always look so classy. The pour is a very dark brown with reddish hues when held to the light. It has a long lasting tan head. The aroma is of dark roasted malts, a little smoke, and wood. The body is around medium. The taste is nice and sweet with a slightly roasted aura. I liked it but did not love it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from the Beer Store, Nashua, NH. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, and slight whiskey aroma. Flavor is hints of whiskey, apple, roasted malt, coffee, vanilla. All flavors are fairly subtle. Medium to full body. The flavors are on the elegant side with nothing robust but itís still decent over all. Not sure I would ever buy again but, itís worth a try.

Bottle. Deep black looking like a Guinness. So verry and boozy and sweet. Interesting but not an everyday beer

Not what I was expecting. Very malty. Booze is faint. Some chocolate notes. Like a light black lager.
