Pours a very dark brown, nearly opaque with a thick head that rapidly dissipates. Notes of the Irish whiskey barrel are evident but does not overpower the caramel malt notes

Cybion (56) - Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUN 27, 2014
Bottle, 330 ml. Pours deep ruby with a tiny amount of tan head, which doesn’t stick around long. Aroma of roasted malts along with a big presence of oak, and some earth, caramel and a tiny bit of resin. As expected it smells a little of Irish whiskey or bourbon. Big hit of dark fruits, caramel and roasted malts in the taste, topped off with a little bit of bourbon, a citrus-y sour note, marzipan and brown sugar. Nicely bitter and extremely smooth and oily on the mouth, a delight for the palate. Essentially a more complex I&G original with a little more body and kick to it; great stuff.

(bottle - 330 ml) Dark ruby pour with a thin tan head. Roasted malt and coffee aroma with some vanilla and oak notes. Slightly sweet at the beginning of the flavor with a roasted malt backbone coming up right after. Bitter and roasted coffee mixed with some light vanilla and buttery flavors with a bitter and lingering finish.

DruncanVeasey (7112) - NUNEATON, Top 13, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2014
Bottle from Ricoh Tossco. Reflective pitch with ruby edges and a small rumpled nicotine head flattening fast. Attractive aroma of bubblegum, mauby, liquorice, Bateman’s and peat. The aroma translates directly into the flavour which is slightly warming, bubblegum fruity and hints at Black Jacks with a scraping of burnt toast. Not serious joined up beer but after a dry spell I have to admit it tastes pretty sweet, if needlessly astringent and burnt to finish. Just give me a full on Bazooka chew/root beer tooth rot attack and be done with it. Kind of pleasant.
